Who Will Remember Us Is Up To Us

By Judi Lynch

If we make the conscious effort to carry the feelings, spirit, and creations of the past into the future, we assure all we have sacrificed to evolve humanity will not be lost.

As we go through life, recognizing purposes and playing out our roles, we create an energy of love and history that survive when we leave these human bodies. Photographs, writings, family history, and genealogy all give us a voice long after we have transitioned our souls. Truly our lives are a legacy to our friends, family, and our species if the evolution for our accomplishments celebrates us.

Many people have no interest in making a “name” for themselves as long as they can say they lived a happy life and they were of service to others. Feeling the peace and a sense of purpose is enough reward in keeping motivated and empowered. Many others, who feel a calling to share their wisdom and talents with the world, want memories and honor in different ways.

Many of us have heirlooms from our ancestors which show their creative talents or skills at collecting valuables — knitted baby clothes, beautiful quilts, old photos, letters, toy collectibles, dishes, silver, jewelry and a host of other items we inherited to keep and pass on to the next generation. It is comforting to have something from someone we loved and who cared for us in life. It makes us remember that we are loved without condition, or we received a unique and special piece of family history to cherish.

It also makes us think about what we would want to leave with those we love to remember us. Not only those we love, but also those we’ve never met. We have a message to convey in a book, a piece of art or another creative outlook in which we have an expressive voice to share.

If what we have to say can make a difference in someone’s life in a positive way, then it becomes part of our mission later in life. There are no rules when it comes to the evolution of the spirit to survive. Our energies live on help to inspire and motivate those who are still in the flesh, complete with visions and gems of genius from the past. Everything old is new and improved as they say.

When Mount Vesuvius erupted in A.D. 79, it created a future archaeological site filled with the history of the people who perished. “Pompeii: Stories from an Eruption,” is an exhibit which was organized to show how the disaster affected those who were caught unaware. This exhibition has almost 500 objects (sculpture, jewelry, household objects, and plaster casts of the dead).

The cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum were destroyed in one of history’s most famous natural disasters. These Roman cities were buried under layers of ash and rock until their rediscovery and exploration in the 18th century. Without our curious minds and advancement in technology, we may have never found proof of how they lived or who they were. We now can reconstruct what life was like and whom these people were by studying what they left behind as they ran from the volcanic ash.

Who will remember us is up to us. In the ways, we live our lives. Our integrity and heart. The willingness to get up and try again no matter what. The courage to change a negative situation into miraculous healing. The light that lives inside us lives on and will always be shinning in the darkness, if we teach ourselves to remember who we are beyond the reality of three dimensions. This spark is all we need to understand what matters.

How long will our accomplishments last on the Earth also depend on how long the planet lasts. Over time statues can crumble and fall, buildings are demolished by weather along with humanmade progress and memoirs discarded or destroyed. Many things survive in our consciousness, nonetheless. Through memory, we continue to evolve instinct with science, spirituality and common knowledge into the collective consciousness of existence. If we make the conscious effort to carry the feelings, spirit, and creations of the past into the future, we assure all we have sacrificed to evolve humanity will not lose — what a beautiful gift to those who lived before and to the future of those who will live again. Our memories serve the purpose of the human spirit that is always in search of meaningful, peaceful existence during our incarnation.
