Tarot for November 2019 Energy Forecast: The Temperance Card

Temperance is the wisdom to know that not every constructive job requires a hammer. Wes Fesler

The Temperance Card, the Fourteenth Major Arcane, which is but one of the four cardinal virtues – the others being Justice, Strength, and Prudence. The Temperance card symbolizes conciliation and renewal. Its meaning as a virtue does not differ so much from its arcane condition. It talks about restraint, moderation, and thoroughness about just about everything in life. Therefore, for November, Temperance suggests patience and inspires important redefinitions in our direct environment.

The Temperance Card image has been changing over time and with various decks being released over many decades. The most common depiction is that of a winged angel on a stream, touching the water with his feet while the other stands firm on the earth.

With both hands, the character moves the contents of two jars, as if mixing the waters without interruption. This is the representation of fairness, of caring for the generally different substances that must be combined (or even ‘tempered’) for the good of harmony.

It is for these and other symbolic attributions that the Temperance Card has been associated with the art of alchemy, which is basically the art of turning common substances into noble elements, such as turning lead into gold.

Ancient alchemical transmutations, often so enigmatic, can be associated with the most straightforward element-mixing procedures, such as cooking recipes.

Thus, the Temperance Card is associated with any act of transforming common elements into valuable substances. On a deeper level, this arcane transmutes mundane unimportant situations into spiritually meaningful experiences.

LOVE: TIME TO RETHINK & REIMAGINE YOUR LOVE LIFE

November is the time to rethink your love life considerably, as the Temperance Card comes to question some of its truths and expectations. Instead of fighting the heart or leaving everything as it is, the advice of this arcane is to act to change the love routine or your conception of love.

If you already have someone:

The month may seem too lukewarm due to several factors, mostly external ones: too many commitments, unreasonable responsibilities, miscellaneous events. As a result of all this, there may be exhaustion, laziness, and disinterest in putting love in the foreground of your life. Beware!

Even so, it is remarkable that being firm in loving commitment tends to make one resist any idle excuse or posture.

The Temperance card is about what is right, even if the timing is tricky.

To better deal with discouragement tendencies, Tarot himself advises to spice up the relationship with unusual situations or light programs that require the complicity and partnership of the people involved.

If you are Single

For those who don’t have a love relationship at the moment and are looking for one, November is the right time to keep looking. The Temperance Card tends to act slowly. However, by respecting coincidences, if they exist, we tend to find people who seem to complement our tastes and interests. Serendipity is afoot.

This is the time to get involved, even though the utmost care for expectations is required. November opens the Holiday season, which already begins thousands of auspicious possibilities. But always with due care!

WORK AND MONEY: DO AND WAIT

The Temperance Card is not always viewed with kind eyes. When it comes to the need to know how to wait, it is one of the most challenging cards to be accepted. But it is only with patience and perseverance that in November will be bringing fulfillment and renewal in your professional sphere.

This is the time to face red tape and negotiate openly for your long-term success. When it comes to this arcane, we cannot think that everything will be resolved in a few hours. The Temperance Card requires parsimony and time to spare, even when we do not have time, to do the proper work, and obtain the expected results. While hoping for the best, you should also do your best. Doing your best is one of the assumptions brought by November’s arcane.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS: HEALING WOUNDS AND AGGREGATING

In addition to being able to combine seemingly conflicting people and situations, this is the right time to invest in cooperation and end conflicts between people who need mutual help. Instead of being overwhelmed by anxiety, the best thing to do is to take a deep breath and peacefully resolve what can be resolved, the best way you can.

The largest and most complete solutions are being provided by life. Knowing how to wait is important. Knowing how to deal with different groups of friends or acquaintances helps you strengthen your relationships.

Instead of nurturing problems, keeping wrong and unfair impressions of someone, the arcane period Temperance is proposing solutions. The solution refers to the idea of what is solvable, that is, what can be mixed, dissolved, redone. This alchemy should be the basis of all relationships in November.

One of the premises of the Temperance Card is to realize what Carl G. Jung would call “Mysterium Coniunctionis” or the “mystery of conjunction,” that is, the marriage between heaven and earth. Or the Great Work called the Magnum opus: mixing substances in several steps to obtain gold – the purest and most valuable part of what was initially considered simple, small, and worthless.

FAITH: CONNECTION WITH THE BEST

Due to its angelic figure, this arcane is traditionally associated with spiritual protective figures such as angels, avatars, archangels, and spiritual guides. It is important to give voice to our spirituality and Inner world when Temperance is the ruler of the month.

Under its archetypical Influence, denser energies tend to purify themselves, and intentions for healing, harmony, and well-being tend to renew the air and strengthen our connection with our faith in the promising future.

It is important to engage in inspirational readings and practices that strengthen our relationship with people, places, objects, dreams, and situations.

LIVE BETTER

The Temperance card frames this art of detoxing or purifying. It makes us see the pure potential of people, imperfect as they may be. It also makes us realize what can be done with our experiences, however difficult they may prove to be.

Tarot reading for November guides us to see each attitude as a possibility of change. With each step we take, the directions of our lives may change as well.

Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are an important tool when we want to make significant changes in the way we think and act about things and people. It is through the spoken word that we clearly understand situations, behaviors, and beliefs. So, we recommend working on these eight sentences, two a week, every day.

We can say them in front of the mirror, leave them written on paper within reach, or bring them in the bag. The important thing is that they are read, if possible, out loud. So, we make November a month of really significant change – starting with us from the inside out.
