Can Good Feng Shui Improve Self-Esteem?

In the Flying Star School of Feng Shui (Xuan Kong Fei Xing), each of these nine stars most definitely relates to self-esteem directly and indirectly.

Feng Shui and Self-Esteem

There are many different schools of Feng Shui. One of them is the Flying Star School (Xuan Kong Fei Xing). In that School, observations are made about a house or building, in part based on when the structure was built and what direction the structure is facing. There is also an assumption that people can be directly and profoundly influenced by their immediate surroundings. This time-tested ancient practice has proven to be a valued self-help practice for all kinds of human conditions.

A Flying Star Chart can be superimposed over the exact floor plan to be reviewed and identify which areas of a house or building will have a predictable influence on occupants. The code system used is referred to as the flying stars, and these are numerical abbreviations for a magnetic field inside a space.

There are nine stars, and each one has a multitude of meanings and associations. Some of those associations are directly or indirectly related to self-esteem because of the relationship scenarios or moods which they can produce or stimulate in occupants. Once you know how to calculate these stars, you will discover the astonishing accuracy in how they manifest in your own home or business location.

• The 1 star is related to sexuality and addictions.

• The 2 star is related to loneliness, sadness, or depression.

• The 3 star is related to gossip and arguments.

• The 4 star is related to socializing and romance.

• The 5 star is related to arguments and obstacles.

• The 6 star is related to power or power struggles.

• The 7 star is related to deception, assault, or betrayal.

• The 8 star is related to convictions, stubbornness, and happiness.

• The 9 star is related to exposure, and it intensifies whatever another star it is paired with.

These nine stars can and do represent many other things besides what I listed above. For example, the 9 Fire star is also symbolic of the eyes and heart. All the other stars are symbolic of different body areas and bodily functions, directions, family members, planets, elements, and more. But for the purposes of this article on self-esteem, I think you can see from the brief list above, that each of these nine stars most definitely relates to self-esteem directly and indirectly.

The goal in Feng shui is to apply adjustments to the physical space, to enhance the inherently supportive energies and to diminish the inherently undermining influences.

With the 2 stars, which can undermine self-esteem, we could use the element METAL to weaken this negative influence. This refers to literal objects made of metal, in a room where we have identified the location of the 2 stars.

For the 8 stars, which can be symbolic of happiness, we may decide to add the FIRE element to that area, to further enhance the inherently good energy.

How do we know which element or object to use in a corrective way?

As mentioned, the flying stars are representative of many things, including the Five Elements: water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. All classical Feng Shui practitioners will learn about the Five Element Theory and how these elements interact with each other. This is a system which pervades not just Feng Shui, but also Chinese astrology, Chinese medicine, and other disciplines rooted in Chinese metaphysics.

In the cycle of the Elements, earth strengthens the metal. Said differently, metal can reduce the power of the earth. The 2 stars are attached to the earth element. So, if the 2 stars can be related to melancholy, we want to weaken it as much as possible. And we can weaken it with the metal element. Metal is anything made of gold, silver, brass, bronze, copper, steel, or other metal combinations.

In contrast, the 8 star is also representative of the earth element, but it presently has mostly positive connotations. Here we may want to enhance or activate the inherently good energy, which could promote self-esteem. Earth is strengthened by the fire element. This is a good example of how there is nothing good or bad about the earth element or any of the elements. How we judge these stars is based on their potential influence, which changes over long periods. We can either weaken or strengthen the earth element, depending on the outcome we want.

Not everything which affects our self-esteem is related directly to these stars. Yin-Yang energies also influence our moods and world view. An example of an environment that is too yin is one that is dark, damp, or cold. In the extreme and chronically, the yin environment could contribute to depression. That will take self-esteem down a notch or two, would you agree?

Another indirect circumstance which can influence self-esteem includes anything related to finances and career. When things are not going well financially, this can undermine self-esteem, just as poor health and procrastination can drag down self-esteem too.

Fortunately, Feng Shui can provide some relatively easy and affordable solutions to these potentially critical issues.
