Down the Yellow Brick Road – Eclipse, Strawberry Full Moon, and Retrogrades: Oh My!

Although 2020 is the official year of the unofficial cancellations, it has been a year filled with important astronomical and astrological events. Just get ready and brace yourself because the month of June promises to be an exceptional one indeed: with a lunar eclipse, a solar eclipse, and a Strawberry Moon. And, even if you don’t believe in astrology, at least you can be enchanted by these phenomena that transform the sky and distract us in such nebulous times filled with uncertainty and fear.

Astral tensions open the month of June, and, on the 5th, a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius brings internal relations, social conflicts, and the need for common ground for expansion and understanding among various groups in our society.

The new astral aspectations are not also bringing about adjustments on the political scene. Still, even it is breathing a wind of change on the general infrastructure of countries, such as transportations, communication, commerce, and all sorts of group activities. The aspect that is forming is kind of weird as we are still amid a pandemic and needing to maintain social distancing. But not everything makes sense for many of us during these trying times, anyway.

Many of us are questioning what the new paths and directions are we should be planning to reboot our lives, professionally, socially, and even at a more intimate level. The only certainty is that our society is undergoing harsh changes and actively evaluating its moral, ethical, religious, and ideological stands.

This eclipse also represents the intensification of conflicts between the Federal Government and the state governments, putting in scene significant differences and mutual distrust.

The dance of the stars in the first ten days of the month denotes shocks of direction and values. Apparently, the crises not only may last but also has the possibility to become more acute, calling attention to possible the consequences for our presently divided society if we do not become more compassionate and more inclusive people. On the 13th, the waning Moon in Pisces will bring softness, compassion, and points out to a flourishing of the arts and an amplification on compassion and solidarity. We can also expect good news in the medical field, maybe even the prospect of new strides on the creation of a COVID 19 vaccine, and report on general health care.

Strawberry Full Moon

At the end of the third week, Mercury begins to retrograde into Cancer, the astrological sign of care, of family, of the country population, also of women and children. In many ways, concerns and issues related to all of these will be on the rise until July 12, when the planet resumes its direct movement.

Debates that seemed outdated will return to the forefront and the foreground during the period. It is time for washing old dirty laundry.

By the end of the third week of June, we will reach five retrograde Planets: Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury. In other words, the general request from these challenging aspects will be to rethink, review, resize, and question our decisions or initiatives again. The most important move will be to look back and improve the path. That may also mean to rid of attitudes, thoughts, and ideas that may no longer serve you.

Later in the month, Mars – the planet of will and courage will enter in tune with Jupiter and Pluto, both in conjunction. It will bring a commitment to the collective, cultural, and economic changes, with reflection upon politicians and civil organizations alike, in countries and also in cities.

On June 21, we will have another eclipse, but this time will be a solar one, on the cardinal sign of Cancer. This solar eclipse will be responsible for emanating powerful energy capable of transforming many areas in our lives. According to astrologers’ experts, this will be a season of co-creation, which lights that fuse that we need so much to promote changes, in ourselves and in the world.

On the 24th, Neptune also begins to retrograde, increasing the number of retrograde planets to six. However, on the 25th, Venus resumed its direct movement in Gemini, stirring up opposition to the government, and forging unexpected new political alliances. We can’t forget we also have a Solstice bringing a seasonal renew of the energetic template. From then on, we will have Mars in Aries, announcing, between August and September, and even more critical, unstable, and aggressive climate between institutions and our population. It is reminding me of the quote from Friedrich Nietzsche: “One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.”
