Dr. Bernie Siegel broke new ground with his monumental book Love, Medicine, and Miracles. Today Bernie continues to impart wisdom about the true nature of life and love with his trademark entertaining and enlightening style.

A grand adventure born of Bernie’s experience of his current and past lives and his deep knowledge of the power of enduring love awaits you!

Bernie says “I wrote this book to help us all understand that we are more than our bodies and that life is truly a mystical event. Once we leave our bodies, time no longer exists for our consciousness. Thus, consciousness can retain the experience of a past life but have no effect upon any lives until it becomes a part of a living person’s consciousness. Then it can play a role in their life and the lives of the people they interact with.

I have lived this truth and so have many others and when we accept the truth and let it educate us it becomes an asset and therapeutic for us all versus confusing and self-destructive.”

As a physician caring for people with life-threatening illnesses Bernie has learned the power of the mind, faith, and enduring love. This book and the six engaging characters are a culmination of (they are!) Bernie and his life and past life experiences and a beautiful and engaging journey of the eternal nature of the soul. Enjoy!

When three conflicted men search for deeper meaning in their lives, through their sometimes painful and amusing explorations they discover there are no coincidences:

– Jon Hokmah, an empathetic psychotherapist who comes to accept the fact that he became a therapist because of his own problems.

– George Dingfelder, a stressed-out Jewish physician with a name longer than his lean body, a nervous smile, photographic memory, and a tendency to talk too much and fantasize even more.

– Carmine Birsamatto, an Italian crime boss who doesn’t deny he’s a racketeer but makes it clear he’s not a thug. With charming manners and a soft spot for his grandchildren, he feels a deep conflict over the nature of his business.

Life begins to make sense when Jon attends a past life workshop held by the famed Dr. Brian Weiss and relives his past life trauma as a troubled teenage boy. What he remembers steers the direction of his life and the lives of George and Carmine.

Join this unlikely trio as they learn that love not only heals, but it endures. Sometimes the paths in life that look like detours are simply different ways to get to where we are meant to be all along.

An Interview with Dr. Bernie Siegel

OMTimes had a conversation with Dr. Bernie Siegel about His new books and perceptions about Past Lives, their influences, and many insights.

OMTimes: What inspired you to write Three Men, Six Lives?

Dr. Bernie SiegelBernie Siegel: When a friend asked me over the phone, “Why are you living this life?” I had a completely unexpected past life experience. I saw myself with a sword killing people and animals. I realized how those events changed my present life and my choices. In this life, I save lives with a knife like a surgeon. My past life experience also taught me about my faith in my Lord being a vital factor in my choices in this life and my past life. The word Lord was a key issue when I went to Jungian therapist James Hillman for help to deal with my emotions. “Bernie, you keep saying, my Lord. It is more than the Lord of your castle; it is your Lord. Go home and relive this,” he shared.

OMTimes: Do you believe our past lives influence our experience in this life?

Bernie Siegel: Our past lives can give us insights into why we are who we are. They influence our consciousness, and as my friend, Kubler-Ross, used to say to me, “Bernie, there are no coincidences.” For Jung, it was “The future is unconsciously prepared long in advance and therefore, can be guessed by clairvoyants.” Also, dreams and drawings can tell us more than words and intellect because they speak from the wisdom and knowledge of our consciousness.

OMTimes: Tell us about the main characters Jon, George, and Carmine. Which character is most like you?

Bernie Siegel: I am George, the surgeon. He is living my experience. In a past life, I killed the woman who was my wife in this life. The grief was incredible for me, but it also led to me understand why my wife’s face had such power over me and my deep feelings and love for her. Our marriage healed the families who were in conflict in our past life.

OMTimes: Do you believe love transcends lifetimes?

Bernie Siegel: Yes, love transcends lifetimes. Every meaningful author lets us know that love is immortal and makes all things immortal. It is the part of us that stays forever.
