The legend of the Phoenix symbolizes transformation and rebirth. To tap into the power of the Phoenix, we have to believe that this ability is inside us. The will to rise again is inherent in our soul’s heart if we can stop and listen to our needs.

The Phoenix, Like Our Souls, Is Immortal

The legend of the Phoenix symbolizes transformation and rebirth.  Just like the sun, which dies in the evening and rises again in the morning, the Phoenix is reborn anew from the ashes of its former self.

We all can tap into the phoenix energy whenever we may feel defeated or deflated in life. The will to rise again is inherited in our soul’s heart if we can stop and listen to our needs. There may be times in our life that we feel we might die, or that a part of us has died. Due to the circumstances around us or feelings that overwhelm us, it can seem that we have lost the power to transform.

To tap into the power of the Phoenix, we have to believe that this ability is inside us. We have the energetic forces to build new thoughts and ideas to help us heal our brokenness into a new life. That our souls are stronger than any force which would try to knock us down. We have to believe that we can stand again, maybe even a little stronger and wiser than before. Getting back up might mean that we have to have the courage to be able to reach out to ask for assistance. Spiritual help and compassion from others who have knowledge and resources help us rebuild our broken hearts and dreams. Ultimately we have to accept the situation in our soul’s evolution to fully understand the purpose of the journey.

The Phoenix is an incredibly powerful totem to visualize during meditation. It brings in a sense of renewal and cleansing of the soul. We may be working very diligently on a forgiveness theme, learning to forgive others, and forgiving ourselves. Remembering that negative situations can evolve into something better helps us to manifest forgiveness in tune with our spiritual theme and needs. The Phoenix helps us release what we no longer want or need in our evolution and leads us into the next story in life. It helps us to heal the hurt so that we may manifest in a higher frequency of knowledge.

The appearance of the Phoenix has been described in many different ways. The oldest description says the bird had halo-lit by the sun. Its colors have been accounted to be bright, vibrant, or peacock-like, while others say it is red and yellow with yellow eyes. The eyes have also been described to be incredibly blue. Its size has been told to be that of an ostrich, but some believe it is comparable to an eagle.

In many stories told about the Phoenix, it is said that their tears can heal any wound and to raise the dead. In Asia, it is a symbol of feminine grace and reigns over all other birds. It is considered a good sign of a wise leader. The Egyptians had the Bennu, a bird that resembled a heron, which played a role in their descriptions of creation. The likeness of this bird can be found in ancient artifacts and was a symbol of rebirth, wealth, and fertility.

The Phoenix was also an ancient symbol in Christianity because it represented resurrection and eternal life. Many had this image carved onto their tombstones to express their faith and belief in the teachings of Jesus. It is also a symbol of magical powers, being a metaphysical wonder that can change shape and form, which has no beginning and no end, having great healing powers and knowledge.

Create meditations that bring in the meta-power of this magical, mythical bird to help sacrifice worries, doubts, conditions, and situations to the fire. We can let them burn and be transformed into grace, understand, courage, and ultimate healing. In these visualizations, we have the gift of accepting new thoughts, ideas, and the wonder of creation. We can change our physical lives, exercise faith into hope, shape our thoughts into action when we know we can rise up, and begin again no matter what!
