Using Reiki on Your Pets

When to Use Reiki for Your Pet?
Many studies around the world prove the effectiveness of energy Healing and spiritual treatments. Everything is energy. Both humans and animals, beings composed of body, mind, emotions, and spirits, need to address their ailments in these four pillars, not just the physical aspect that allopathic medicines provide. Everything is important, but relying solely on medication treats the consequence, not the cause. Therefore, it is important to treat the body as a whole.

Reiki helps restore and balance the animal’s energy when it becomes overwhelmed by the surrounding energies, whether in the home or from the owners. Animals, especially cats, are sensitive and assist in transmuting the energies of their home and family. However, they can become ill when the negative and deficient energy becomes too much for them to bear (hence the importance of having more than one animal in a large family). Reiki helps maintain well-being and energetic balance and strengthens the animal’s immune system.
Animals are sentient beings, just like us humans. They also appreciate good relaxation techniques, positive energy, and care that shows them how much they are loved.

Therefore, be careful with aggressive or dismissive jokes and words. Be mindful of moments of anger that you might take out on your pet. They may not speak a language comprehensible to us, but we always communicate with them!

Some animals are “holding on” to their death because of their owner’s feelings. There are animals that get sick out of fear or apprehension about what their owner thinks and whether they might be given away. However, an animal is a living being like us, with feelings and emotions.
Take care of your pet, it is a sentient soul!
In fact, it would be ideal to use Reiki therapy on your pet at all times, as it can be used as a preventive measure to strengthen their health and promote well-being. We are all constantly exposed to various types of energy, and our animals absorb it intensely. Taking care of their energy is also an act of love. Such treatments do not need to be frequent. Biweekly or monthly applications can greatly enhance the animal’s quality of life.
However, since this is not always the case, it is advisable to use Reiki when owners notice something unusual, whether in behavior or physical. Of course, it should be used in conjunction with veterinary assistance.
An animal may often have some energetic blockage that interferes with its well-being, which may not be easily – if ever – detected by veterinary exams.
Problems first occur in the spirit. Therefore, if the animal exhibits strange behavior, Reiki can help restore and balance its energy, preventing any diseases that could manifest in the physical body.
Despite being widely spread in recent times, Reiki is still little known for animal treatment. I believe the biggest barrier is showing that animals also need this kind of care and not waiting for diseases to establish themselves before seeking help. Much of what happens to animals are problems and energies that they absorb from their owners, so taking care of the energetic and spiritual health of the animal is also part of responsible pet ownership.
Reiki in dogs:
Ask for permission.
It is very important to always ask for permission from the animal, either mentally or out loud.
Permission to be there, to approach, and especially to apply Reiki. Explain that it is healing energy and that you are there to help.
Often, at this moment, the animal already calms down. But, even when it doesn’t show that it wants it, please focus on the Reiki energy and say you are there to send healing energy wherever it is most needed.
The wisdom of Reiki will do its part. It will know where to go. It will go to the environment if it’s not for the animal.
Let them approach.
When treating pets of friends or relatives with whom you don’t have much contact, it’s ideal to let them get used to your presence.
They may perceive that you are invading their space, causing some stress in this initial contact.
Sit on the floor and wait for a while. During this time, start connecting with Reiki energy so that they can feel positive vibrations coming from you.
Avoid eye contact with fearful or aggressive dogs.
Fearful or aggressive dogs feel very intimidated by eye contact; they may feel threatened. Usually, they have two reactions: to flee or to try to bite. Be very careful!
With cats, make eye contact.
Cats communicate a lot through eye contact. Ask anyone with a cat how they sometimes stare at them for a while.
When you start, look directly into his eyes and blink slowly twice or thrice, then wait a moment. If he blinks back at you at this moment, you have created a bond of trust with him.
As they are very curious, after he blinks back, he blinks again and turns slightly to the side. Start moving your hands as if something very interesting is happening there. Usually, they approach you to see what it is and interact with you.
Of course, there are cats that immediately approach. They can sense the positive energy right away.
Restless animals
There are animals that are very restless and won’t stay still.
After you have tried everything to establish a bond between you, and he still hasn’t relaxed, it’s not a problem.
Simply find a position where the animal is always in sight. Then, raise your hand and start sending Reiki. He will receive the energy anyway.
This technique becomes stronger when a person has reached the second level of Reiki, not only because of the use of symbols but also because your energy becomes more potent with the second level.
