Astrology Forecast February 2026 – Gird Yourself

Listen to Astrologer Kathy Biehl discuss the Astrology Forecast February 2026.

Gird yourself. Ready or not, we’re hurtling into the new.

February is when everything changes, with no going back. It has relatively few astrological aspects, but two of them are among the most impactful influences of the year. They’re hitting the reset button and shooting us all into a different way of living. Fortunately, they’re also sending us off with the raw life force and innate wisdom to make the journey.

The launch happens mid-month, at the one-two punch of the Aquarius New Moon solar eclipse and the long-awaited, much hyped Saturn/Neptune conjunction. New operating systems are coming, in communities, in visions for the future, and in raw (that word again!) creative power.

But before they arrive, the skies have some prep in store.

The inner planets and the Sun continue to travel together in a cluster. January had the concentration in somber, foundation-building Capricorn. February begins with them energizing the collective, futuristic Aquarius.

How are your light and self-expression faring within that framework? A status report starts the month at the Leo Full Moon on February 1. It may feel like everyone, and everything has feedback, with Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Pluto sharing space in Aquarius with the Sun. They’ll show who gets or appreciates you and who doesn’t. You’ll know what to do with the second category.

Meanwhile, rumblings of instability and change are crackling through the air (and many a situation). Uranus stations direct on February 3 at 27 Taurus, the degree he’s occupied since December 31 and where he will remain until mid-March. The turnaround starts with a slow walk out of the sign and brings movement on matters that have been teetering or fracturing below the surface and behind the scenes. Much will be sudden and unexpected; much will involve resources, finances, and core values; some will be enlightening and liberating. Logjams are breaking loose.

Minds and media buzz with astonishing, eye-opening information on February 5, when Mercury squares Uranus. It’s a goodbye exercise, the last square the two will make with Uranus while in Taurus. Mercury is the advance guard for a phenomenon that will recur this month. The great awakener is now the keeper of the exit door, the last planet each body contacts as it moves out of a sign, which means that each exiting planet gets a shake-up on the way out. Some of today’s jolts have the potential of shedding surprising light on Uranus’ time in the sign since 2018.

Our communication mode morphs from the intellectual to the formless, nonverbal, and telepathic when Mercury enters Pisces on February 6 for a five-week stay. While he is loosening the hold on reason, our dealings with each other likewise let go of boundaries and dissolve into softness, fantasy, and escapism.

Venus begins a month-long voyage through Pisces on February 10, where she normally encourages viewing others through the eyes of love, or romanticizing, or making excuses. This time, though, she’s entering those waters shocked and awed by a goodbye square to Uranus on February 8.

Relationship breakthroughs are probable. Some friends will be startled by the realization that they are more. Some will let go of each other. Most of us will see situations in a startling light that we feel our way through once she ducks into Pisces.

While we’re floating on fairy tales and magic – or simply being kinder and gentler with each other – inner fires come back on, noticeably and unmistakably. It’s the beginning of one of the month’s main events. Saturn, the ruler of order, planet of adulting, returns to Aries on February 13. We got a taste of this influence from late May to the end of August last year, and now his authority is locking in for a two-year stay. He’s directing attention to personal agency and self-determination (you gonna step up for yourself? You better) and heading for a world-changing meeting with Neptune on February 20.

Before they combine their fires, though, the first big event of the month detonates on February 17: the Aquarius New Moon solar eclipse. This is the first in the incoming eclipse family, on the Leo/Aquarius axis, which has us revisiting and resetting the challenge of expressing ourselves within a collective, and which continues through 2027. Because it’s a solar eclipse, it has the effect of causing a momentary shutdown and installing a new operating system.

As with the New Moons since October, this one is at the 28th degree of its sign, enhancing the super-sized feel and impact of everything launching or rebooting now. That’s all being shot forward with unmistakable force, coming off the square from the sign’s ruler Uranus. New communities, new relationships to technology, new visions for the future – every beginning or next phase under this New Moon is taking into account the absolutely, utterly changed circumstances of our lives and reality.

While shockwaves are reverberating, the Aquarian emphasis of the sky breaks up, with the Sun following Mercury and Venus into the Pisces on February 18. It’s as if we’re being pleasantly anesthesized in advance of the second big event: Saturn and Neptune meeting February 20 at the very first degree of the zodiac.

This conjunction happens on a world point, meaning it affects us globally. The conjunction combines paradoxical influences: structure fusing with dissolution; human authority fusing with faith. Many of us alive now have lived through Saturn/Neptune conjunctions – they meet every 36 years or so, most recently in 1989-90 – but not at this particular degree. Zero degrees Aries is the origin point for all life and creation, and Saturn and Neptune have not met here during recorded history.

In a sense, then, we are at the rebirth of civilization. And raw life force is igniting in each of us to move us ahead with courage, wisdom, and an innate connection to the divine (or a force greater than our conscious selves).

The immediate result is not aggression, but free-flowing tenderness and nurturing. Venus trines Jupiter on February 20 and immerses us in energies and situations that feed and soothe us, as well as fuel the fighting spirit igniting in us.

The emotional side of life continues to wash over us as Mercury begins its first retrograde of the year, from February 27 to March 20, all in the sign of Pisces. That sign may make this stretch extra woozy-making, so apply the usual cautions with steroids: Double-check fine print. Don’t assume the other side of a conversation thinks you’re talking about the same thing, even if you’re using the same words. Put off major agreements and purchases. Go over old business and conversations and see what you misunderstood.

You’ll find lots more information, plus important dates, in my annual Mercury retrograde guide for OMTimes.

While we’re fishtailing, our collective and individual drive gets a blast and achieves a breakthrough when Mars squares Uranus, pushing for action on his time in Taurus (since 2018, remember), February 27. By month’s end, we gain incredible clarity about what we really, truly want and value when Mercury and Venus meet on February 28. Since they’re not in a verbal mode, this clarity may come through music, or dreams, or simply a knowing.

We’re in a new, new place, using very different skills to navigate. The Mercury/Venus conjunction is giving confirmation: We’re on the right track.
