Astrology Forecast March 2026

The Astrology Forecast for March 2026 reveals a month of profound paradox, where the raw life force of new beginnings propels us forward even as a dreamy Mercury retrograde in Pisces gently pulls us back to sift through the treasures and illusions of the past.

Astrology Forecast March 2026

Listen to Astrologer Kathy Biehl discuss the Astrology Forecast March 2026.

Life is a paradox. While February’s astrology had us hurtling toward destinations unknown, March’s turns focus more to the past. The month is full of revelations, doors slamming shut, backstories, explanations, and encountering and uncovering confusion, delusion, and unexpected grace. And yet, despite that, raw life force continues to spur us onward toward those destinations unknown.

We float into the month with Mercury drifting backward through Pisces. Through the equinox, thoughts are diffuse and dreamlike; communication is indirect, fuzzy, telepathic or deceitful; modes of transportation are deviating from normal operating procedures. Much that we encounter has a nostalgic, otherworldly glow, including ghostly visitations from people or situations that once had a place in our hearts (or imagination).

Cast your net onto the waters to capture bits from the past – treasures, detritus, misunderstandings, unfinished business – and sort through them as whim directs. Logic is on extended break for the month (Mercury will dry off in Aries come April); ride instead on intuition, reading the signs, and listening to changes in your mood and energy. No need to understand the full import just yet of anything that bobs up. Capture and hold it until later, when you can – and probably will – make sense of it.

The waterways challenge new arrangements and agreements. Put them off till late month if you can (simply avoiding acting on them fits the vibe). They may be an illusion; they may be a shell game; they may lack the defined contours and shared assumptions needed to rely on them.

It’ll lower your frustration level if you approach the usual retrograde rigamarole as a dredging up and washing away process that’s part of moving into the new. Read more in my Mercury retrograde guide at OMTimes.

The waters are a gentle but persistent backdrop to the month’s activity. It’s not as intense or jam-packed as what we’ve been through lately, but it still manages to move life along while we soak in Pisces.

We begin the month in the gauntlet between eclipses, and February’s immediately gets a dramatic, potentially explosive power up. Mars, the planet of action and aggression, crosses the degree of February’s Aquarius solar eclipse on March 1 and accelerates the eclipse story’s unfolding. The conjunction is one of a number of trip wires built into this eclipse, which will go off in a series of milestones, installing a new way of being. You may actively kick the story along. Collective efforts may implement the next stage of change. And possibly both will happen.

Actions and motivations then turn soft and indirect as Mars enters Pisces for a five-week cruise. The water takes the edge, efficiency, and effectiveness off his usual forcefulness. Pushing meets resistance or backwash. Approaches are more likely to be backhanded, even deceptive, and possibly guided by higher purposes.

Watch for supersized drama, revelations, departures, and chapter closings at the Virgo Full Moon lunar eclipse on March 3. Boundaries and critical thinking are issues, counterpoints to the all-consuming, all-connecting dominance of planets in Pisces. A helpful guideline: what’s the healthy choice?

Feeling engulfed is temporary at most. Lightning zaps the waters on March 4 when love goddess Venus sextiles liberating, awakening Uranus, and pathways open between them for relationship breakthroughs or just plain breaks. (Which are not a bad prospect in situations of enmeshment.) The aftermath brings personal fulfillment and indulgence, plus an uptick in taking care of others, and maybe yourself as well, when the Sun trines Jupiter on March 5.

We start noticeably shaking off the waters on March 6 as the social mode goes from gentle, dreamy, and understanding to high energy, “Outta my way!” Venus is trading her mermaid and mystic ways for the warrior and hunter trappings of Aries, which she’ll charge through until the last day of the month. Solo or spur-of-the-moment activity is more the norm, with people unlikely to ask or wait for permission. Everyone’s on the prowl, on the hunt, on the go, despite so much Pisces energy being the baseline of existence.

It’s a paradox (that word again), especially March 7 – 8. The retrograde delivers immersion in what it has dislodged and clarity locks in – as much as anything can when Pisces is involved – with the Mercury / Sun conjunction, aka cazimi. Meanwhile, desires, creativity, and values blaze with near-religious fervor, then blossom into form when Venus meets Neptune and then Saturn. This trifecta is a formula for manifestation; embrace and allow the impulses igniting within you.

And share them. Sharing is nigh on mandatory. The flow of communication and the noise level in general go over the top when Mercury trines Jupiter on March 9 and brings more, more, more to the surface from the retrograde journey.

Meanwhile, we’re all running through the water after what and who we want, no matter what exertion that requires. Look for ways to cut out what doesn’t fit the bill – and to connect with what does – March 10, at the sextile between the rulers of desire and money, Venus and Pluto. Jupiter’s stationing direct at the same time, signaling movement to come on matters that have been churning in the waters since it hit the degree of the station in mid-February. Movement will be slow, but noticeable, and possibly not materialize until early April.

The retrograde journey leads to inspired action on March 15, when Mercury conjoins Mars. It’s time to do something about or with what’s been revealed. Logic isn’t the driver; intuition or an all-consuming knowing is. This pairing carries potent energy for creating, for acts of kindness (random and otherwise, and also for doing magic.

Meanwhile, bold quests and requests grow even moreso. The two rulers of indulgence, Venus and Jupiter, headbutt in a square on March 18. It’s more than a “More pudding, sir,” moment; it’s a blossoming of going for what you want without hesitation, and daring to go for more than usual.

And the steamy combo permeates the Pisces New Moon March 18/19. Fire and water blend in the lineup, which opens pathways to new ways of coexisting via a sextile from the Moon to Uranus.

The blend of connectedness and self-direction colors the equinox (March 20, when the Sun enters Aries) and sets the tone for the next three months. Mercury’s direct station on that day underscores the arrival of a new direction, as the Sun crosses the Saturn/Neptune conjunction’s degree and kindles its potential within each of us.

We are off and running – or maybe jet skiing – when Mars trines Jupiter the next day. This is a butterfly-effect moment; one step leads to huge developments, or escalates into much more and bigger action than initially contemplated.

In the aftermath, notice what is heating up in your core. The Sun’s meeting with Neptune (March 22) and then Saturn (March 25) has us integrating the outer planet’s conjunction. What were you contemplating last July that started to feel possible when they met on February 20? Where have you been feeling excitement or coming back to life since then? What are you inspired to do, to create, to ground into reality? How are you claiming or experiencing mastery of your life force?

Openings pop up on March 28 to sharpen this newfound, kindling energy. The invitation is there to cut away energy drains and step into your power. The phrase may be trite from overuse, but it absolutely describes what’s on tap when Saturn sextiles Pluto. Take your place in your friend group or community. Claim your unique leadership role. Commit to your future and the companions traveling with you.

And then settle into a comfy place. Venus enters Taurus on March 30, offering refuge and creature comforts for almost a month. Fire (and passions) (and aggression) will heat up, and how, as April progresses, but she will lure us with sensuality and fine foods and people who are very much within reach. Which will make so much feel worthwhile. It’s an invitation to stop and smell the roses, even as we head into the unknown.
