Your Conscious, Friendly Mind – Day 1

Stop Fighting and Start Befriending Your Mind

When something is not going right in our life, when we are stressed and our relationships are causing inner agony, what do we do? Who can help the best? Therapists? Doctors? Books? Good friends? Drugs, alcohol?  All of these solutions are external forms of help. No matter how good they are they cannot be a true solution.

In my book, Making Your Mind Your Best Friend, I share that the biggest reality I have experienced in life is that the mind is both your best friend and your worst enemy. The second reality is that no one in this world is happy to be controlled. Therefore I teach that instead of controlling the mind it is much easier to befriend the mind and have all its support in times of tests and tribulations.

Today I will share how we can practice simple yet practical ways to win the confidence and love of our own mind.

1.      Give up the external search for support and move within, and just practice simple methods of relaxation. Let your body’s tense muscles melt as your consciousness penetrates them with your auto suggestions for “relaxation.”

2.      Affirm and reaffirm the invincible power of your Mind in communion with the Divine, who is your Sole Refuge.

3.      Let your positive affirmations sink in your mind and find an entry to your oceanic subconscious mind. Keep persevering, knowing, that the Nature never cheats or betrays. Like a child’s faith in mother, trust in the Divine to help you cleanse the dust deposited on the mirror of your inner mind. When you come out of this meditation, notice how you see the same world, the same relationships, the same painful situations change their colors and come to embrace you with love and gifts.
