A Daily Look Within – Day 30
A Daily Look Within Day 30
By Kathy Custren
Day 30: “Balance in the Conundrum” Wrap-up; Balance of all four elemental weeks; Loving who you are unconditionally (and others, too!)
Something happened not too long ago–one of those light bulb moments when life itself makes sense. Hopefully, sharing it will make an impression on your experience, too.
I have used the term, “The Conundrum,” in various writings over the past few years. It is my favorite word to describe the on-going, interactive puzzle that is our human existence. In seeking balance at various times, we may feel that the many things and people around us are a challenge or an opposite.
In fact, we may use some “other” off-putting term that causes us to withdraw from them instead of following our curiosity and being drawn into what “they” have to offer. Yes, the challenge of balance in The Conundrum lies in achieving greater knowledge of who we are…and who we are “not..” That “not” says a lot!
Taking a look at “who we are,” we can most identify with those aspects of life that are easy to name. In fact we are given a name at birth, by our parents, long before we ourselves grow into the person we are to become. We are able to associate many things with our life experience as being those actions or feelings we know best because they are so self-evident.
We are asked to reach beyond our comfort zone or think outside the box, and that would mean taking that knowledge of self and expanding it beyond us to all other forms we might be able to name. In fact, we can classify and name just about every matter of noun out there. Just like us, they may “be” one thing, and we also must be mindful of the opposite…what they are “not.”
