We are Students and the Teachers

We Learn From Our Teachers…

The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live. ~ Mortimer Adler

The best kind of teacher teaches what they know. Simply speaking, you would not want a math teacher to teach English or an English teacher to teach math. There are a multitude of modalities, books and teachers when it comes to the many facets of spirituality and life in general. Typically, you will learn the most when you feel a connection to your teacher or if the material or book resonates with you.

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.  ~ Buddha

Teachers Help Us Learn

Practicing discernment and acknowledging what feels right to you personally is essential. If something does not resonate with you, practice discernment and choose not to accept it for yourself. In other words, accept what resonates and discard the rest. Recognizing my own journey into consciousness, I can attest that I have had many lessons in discernment. Trust me; I didn’t always learn the lesson the first time around. It took numerous attempts for me to really have an understanding of the concept of discernment and to feel comfortable honoring what resonates with my be-ing.

As spiritual beings having a human life experience, each one of us has chosen to incarnate at this time and enroll in Earth school. Some individuals take their studies very seriously, while others seem to just go with the flow. Regardless of your approach, experiences providing us with opportunities to learn and to grow from are bountiful. It is up to each one of us to see these experiences, including any perceived mistakes or wrong choices made in life, from a Higher soul perspective. Many times, the individuals involved and situations themselves afford us with a plethora of lessons to learn.

Patterns are Important as Teachers

Noticing a pattern in your life, such as individuals with similar personalities, relationship similarities or situational similarities, will assist you in discovering what the lesson could be. Take a moment to pause, reflect and tune in to your Higher self when this happens. Then, ask the question, “What am I learning from this scenario or individual? What is the lesson for me?” Lessons may entail empathy, compassion, having patience, unconditional love, healing triggers, attaining confidence, empowerment, courage, releasing fear, overcoming self-perceived obstacles and so on.

Each day learn something new, and just as important, relearn something old. ~ Robert Brault

Nonetheless, each day affords us new opportunities to learn from, so set the intention and allow yourself to learn something new each day. Living in the present moment and practicing mindfulness will assist you greatly in doing so. Learning is an ongoing process. Recognize that the knowledge attained and wisdom acquired will continue to remain with you for you to use and share with others.

Teachers Share What they Know

If you have knowledge, let others light their candles at it. ~ Margaret Fuller

Consciously choose to share your journey with others because we are all teachers, just as we are students. Through our individual life experiences, we are each gathering wisdom and tools for our spiritual tool belt to assist us, as well as others, on this journey. Have the courage to share your experiences and the knowledge you have attained with family members, friends, colleagues, and even new acquaintances. What you learn can and will assist others on their individual path. Undoubtedly, people come into your life for a reason just as you come into theirs. Without even realizing the full capacity of what you behold within you, choose to share your experiences with others as you are guided to do so.

Students Can Be Teachers

The Universe will assist us in bringing people, teachers and experiences into our awareness, so that we can learn, heal, grow and evolve. Consequently, remember to listen to your inner knowingness and choose to study what resonates with you personally whether it be reading a book or taking a class. As spiritual beings having a human life experience, we are constantly learning, growing and evolving. Acknowledge your fellow travelers/Earth school enrollees as we each embark on our own adventure called life. During this incarnation, we are all teachers to one another just as we are all students.
