Insurance Plan Options for Your Spa Business

by Rachelle WilberOMTimes Digital eZineDay spas are becoming popular with the population focusing more on wellness and health. With this insurgence of interest, you have to take special care to protect your business. Here are some of the insurance plan options that you should consider for your day spa.

Liability Insurance Coverage

The point of liability insurance is to cover any incidents that may occur while your customers are on the premises. This would cover things like slips and falls or something else outside of the treatments that are being provided. Most businesses need to have this type of insurance. Some companies, like Marine Agency, know that it would also cover an employee incident that resulted in them being injured. Liability insurance is just what it says. It protects your business up to a certain point for any liability issues.

Property Insurance

You never know when a natural disaster may strike in your area. Another reason that having property insurance is a good idea is if there was a fire that damaged your building. You don’t want to have to shell out the money to repair your facility on your own. Property insurance protects the place that you do business. It can also be used to replace the equipment that you use for your day spa.

Medical Insurance

The type of medical insurance that you seriously need to consider for your day spa is a professional liability for your employees. This would include things like malpractice, HIPAA violations, sexual assault allegations, and anything else that resulted in a customer being injured during a treatment session. You may or may not have a licensed medical facility as a part of your day spa. Insurance for medical spas will cover any of these types of incidents reported by your customers.

Business Disruption Coverage

If you were unable to open your doors, business disruption insurance would cover your payroll and other operating expenses. There are a variety of reasons that you may not be able to conduct business. There may have been a fire, or there’s an ongoing investigation stemming from customer accusations. This type of insurance will help you to keep everything on hold until things can be resolved. You don’t want to have to hire new employees or not be able to pay your bills during this timeframe.
