Ho’oponopono And the Science of Forgiveness
Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian healing system that means correcting a mistake. In the Hawaiian language, Ho’o means to cause, and Pono Pono implies perfection.
Ho’oponopono and Forgiveness
The practice of Ho’oponopono, according to the Kahunas, brings balance between three estancias, the three “I.” We have Uhane, the conscious “I”; Unihipili, the middle “I,” our instinctive or unconscious Self, and Aumakua, the higher “I.”
Our mind is divided into different coefficients: We have 5% of our conscious mind, 65% unconscious, and 30% superconscious. We use the conscious mind to decide our life, but while it is the “head,” the unconscious is the “neck.”
The unconscious ends up directing our thoughts and actions. We believe it is because it has stored memories of other lives, other levels of consciousness, our kinship relationships, and even events throughout our life.
At some point, we learned that a particular behavior or idea was ideal for protecting us or suitable for us. Still, today it no longer makes sense and ends up bringing an unsatisfactory or unhappy result. The Ho’Oponopono Technique is a powerful tool that manages to act in this more resonant field, more difficult to access and transmute.
Reaching and Transmuting parts of the Unconscious Mind
To reach the unconscious, we need to be in an alpha or hypnotic state. It is also possible to repeat written or spoken words multiple times and achieve the same results. Several other resources are used to work on unconscious patterns like NLP, meditations, hypnosis, and regression. But in truth, nothing is as efficient as the Ho’Oponopono. That is because Ho’Oponopono connects the “Three Selves” of being with divine Intelligence. It is easy to learn and practice
The word means “straighten what is crooked” or “correct a mistake.” It can correct and maintain human relationships between family members and clans and the deities that protect them.
To Practice Ho’oponopono aware of all its meaning and with lucidity makes us an Integral Being.
We are spiritual beings with a human experience, not material beings who seek spiritual experience.
In fact, this search is the search for each one of us’s spiritual essence, which is why it brings so much plenitude to the people who enter the path of Soul Awareness.
Releasing Emotions and Purifying the Inner Worlds
As mentioned earlier, working with a problem is the key to Ho’Oponopono.
Every challenge appears bringing up something that needs to be transmuted, restored, and released. Often, the cause is not known, and therefore, it is important to define it well.
For example, you have a particular way of acting that you do not like, but you repeated the same trait when you least expected it. That is because it is rooted in your personality, and you have no idea why you act this way. You can work on this defect by practicing Ho’Oponopono even without understanding its causes. There is the possibility of having some insight that shows its origin, as has happened in many cases. Everything will make a lot of sense for you, also, to benefit from the result.
Rules of Engagement
A Family’s Elders are the ones who hold the reins. If they cannot resolve the conflict, a third party is introduced.
In principle, the declaration of the situation that distresses them is made. All members must solve problems without holding anyone responsible and without holding on to emotions. Everyone should meditate and keep silent if necessary.
Then comes confession, repentance, and most important of all, forgiveness. Everything is released. Nothing must remain tied.
Ho’oponopono breaks bad memories and negative and harmful situations both for the person and for their family nucleus. In this way, all physical signs of an illness can be eliminated.
As it was said a while ago, repeating words can reach our unconscious, whether written or spoken.
For words to emerge, they are first thought by us, and even if not said and written, if too repeated, they already form a thought pattern. So, it is with emotions. They arise after an idea has been created in the mind, either in the moment or already an established neural pattern. This is important to show us the following: it all starts in thought.
When the Kahunas families came together to solve a child’s problem, they knew that child had been the most sensitive. They believed that the child could have been a victim of the result of the whole family’s thoughts.
So, they practiced Ho’Oponopono always. Even without a recent or recurring problem, they saw it as a spiritual bath. A bath that took care of the mind, thoughts, which took care of the spirit. Consequently, it will take care of the emotions and the body in material life, promoting the Integral Being.
Ho’oponopono Meditations
To practice Ho’oponopono meditation is to achieve inner peace through meditation to achieve forgiveness. It is considered one of the most powerful healing methods out there.
The repetition of the words in meditation allows the love that is professed to be perceived through the subconscious. All the emotions that prevent the energy from flowing are found.
Many of these blockages are what end up causing disease and illness.
Whenever a compromising situation arises, and forces are weakening, you can say a phrase of forgiveness, not for the environment but for yourself.
I’m sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you
I’m sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you
I’m sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you
Meditation to balance the chakras recommends sitting on the floor in a lotus flower position, with a straight spine, eyes closed.
The important thing is to visualize what you want, specifically with a color and a clockwise direction.
A Mantra could be:
Lamam
RAM
Yum
Hum
Sham
Om
Finally, after being silent for a moment, it is resumed with the following prayer, repeated three times.
Om sumukhaya namaha X 3
Om Sumukhaya Namah
This mantra has a lot of meaning, but to make it simple, it means you will always be lovely in the soul, in spirit, in the face, everything. By meditating on this mantra, very pleasing manners and Beauty come onto you. Along with that comes peace. Also, Beauty always will dance in your eyes, and the words you speak are all filled with that power of love.
These Ho’oponopono affirmations must be done daily to unblock the energy chakras. All are activators to show that what is desired is close to being achieved. They should always be positive and motivating.
Ideally, physical well-being and awareness of the signs could be talking about possible imbalances to attend to. It would indicate that there is an emotional situation that is being transferred to the physical plane.
