Barbara Marx Hubbard: Visions of a Universal Humanity

I saw the pain of one group going to the pain of all.  It was like our nervous system was just connecting us.  And at some point the pain this flash became so intense that we stopped, very much like we did a few times on 9/11 or with the Boston bombings where the marathon runners were hurt.  Suddenly, you all feel the pain together.  And with that there was a tremendous growth of empathy, of caring for one another.  We saw that just recently in the Boston marathon bombing because the concern that we felt for every child, every person, and everyone who lost their legs, it was like it was our child, our body.

Then I felt spirituality rising up in people as their own inner expression of the divine rose up and healings were occurring.  I saw briefly an amazing scenario where innovations in health, education, economics, all the things we really are beginning to do, were coordinated like organs in a social body; like organs in a body of a newborn baby, it’s born but it doesn’t know it’s born until it coordinates.  When we coordinated in a feeling of empathy and spirituality, it was like a mystical awakening of planet Earth as one living body where we opened our collective eyes.  It’s like the light that the mystics have seen.  It felt to me like we were seeing that mystic light together.  It came forth from the Earth and was attracting towards the Earth the light of other consciousness.  It was as though we were literally being born as a universal species.
