Finding Self through Conscious Awareness

by Shelly Wilson

Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure. ~ Oprah Winfrey

self_OMTimesThis journey into consciousness offers each one of us the ability to discover the truth of who we are. As spiritual beings having a human life experience, our human-ness deems it essential that we discover who we really are. Many individuals long to know their purpose. Who am I? Why I am here? What am I supposed to be doing? Asking these questions ignites the spark within us and offers us the opportunity to connect to our Higher self – the knowingness of our soul.

Suppose for a moment that the answer to these questions is simple – your purpose is to be you. The core of your purpose focuses solely on your happiness and well-being. Allow yourself the opportunity to explore, discover, learn and embrace what really makes your heart sing. Know that all is as it should be in each and every moment. Have no regrets and live each day fully and freely. When you come from a place of love and see everything, including yourself, through the eyes of love, love is all that will exist. Allow yourself the opportunity to heighten your awareness and see every experience from a Higher/soul perspective.

Awareness involves both consciousness and cognizance. This awareness includes being cognizant of our surroundings as well as the people coming into and leaving our life. Awareness involves our perception of these experiences and individuals and how we perceive ourselves. The Universe will assist us in bringing people, teachers and experiences into our awareness so that we can learn, heal and grow from them.

Heightening one’s awareness becomes easier if your energy is consciously in the present moment. Allow yourself the opportunity to become mindfully present. This involves living in the moment rather than focusing on the future or dwelling in the past. Focus on living, being and breathing in the moment. As you become conscious of being present, your awareness will increase and you will become more connected with yourself and with others. Your appreciation for each moment will increase as well.
