Pet Talk: Oscar’s Inspiration for Being of Service
Oscar: I lift the spirits of the moms and dads as much as the children.
Sally thought about that for a moment and then remembered a conversation she had with one of the nurses after Oscar and another dog performed their tricks for the children. The nurse told her that when the dogs come to entertain the parents benefit from their performance as much as the patients. She explained that the parents sit there all day with their sick children and the laughter lifts their spirits for a while from all their worry and fear. Everyone at the hospital so appreciated and was grateful for all the time that the dogs spend there.
Sally thought about this conversation for several days. I don’t know if I was reading her through Oscar or if he felt the vibration of the adults lift along with the children or both. What matters is he shared it with me. Sally and Jim were not surprised Oscar knew this; they know what a special guy they have.
Back to my “ponder it day.” When a lot of us reflect on being of service we think of the military, volunteers, fire and police or service dogs for the handicapped. All of these are worthy and needed jobs but I had to ponder it further. Animals, since the beginning of time have been our teachers. We have looked to them for wisdom, protection, strength, nourishment, and comfort. I can tell in my practice that more people are making their pets part of their families instead of just watch dogs for their back yards. It feels like something is shifting globally that is opening up our hearts and lifting our vibrations. I believe this is another way that animals are being of service to us. What greater gift could they give than to bring joy, happiness and to show us how to love unconditionally?
There are people and Ascended masters that say we are on the cusp of a shift into a more luminous, intuitive, and loving society. A time when humanity’s primary question when considering an occupation is “How can I be of service?” Well Oscar has the answer for that already.
