Feng Shui Plants For the Season

There are a number of other places you can use plants for good fortune in the kitchen, too: – In the corners of the room – On top of the refrigerator – Near the stove, especially if the stove is close to the refrigerator or sink — a plant placed between the two will diffuse the hot/cold or fire/water energies that compete and cancel each other out. – Near a microwave, to cancel out the negative effects of the electromagnetic field (Note: It’s best not to have a microwave at all, as microwaving foods kills the nutrients in it.)

Plants in the Bathroom Plants in the bathroom, as long as they are not placed directly on top of the back of the toilet bowl, are good Feng Shui. They add oxygen into the space for a breath of life as you prepare for your day each morning. Looking at a plant in the morning, and even breathing in the fresh scent of flowers on a plant, will help you feel great all day.

Plants in the Home Office If you work from home — or use a home office for creative pursuits or even just bill-paying — plants can add good fortune to the space. To activate the chi in your home office, consider placing bamboo on your desk. The Chinese consider bamboo with three stalks to be the luckiest. Tie red ribbons around it to further enhance its power.

You can also place a “money tree” in the wealth trigram of your home office (or your living room, or anywhere in your home) for greater fortune. This plant can act as an “environmental anchor” http://www.kenlauher.com/feng-shui-tips/bid/51269/Feng-Shui-Your-Career-with-Environmental-Anchors, reminding you of your financial or career goals each time you look at it

Bring Outdoor Plants in for the Season If you had a collection of plants you kept outdoors in the warmer months, it’s a good idea to bring them in for the season. http://www.kenlauher.com/feng-shui-tips/bid/47610/Feng-Shui-Plants-For-Indoors Can you place them in spots where they will energize trigrams of the Ba Gua or help remedy specific Feng Shui problem areas in your home?

The holiday season is also a good time to introduce plants like mistletoe, poinsettias, evergreens and other plants into your home. Remember, not all plants are safe if you have children or pets. (For instance, poinsettias should never be placed in homes with children or pets, as their leaves are poisonous.)

And, of course, if you celebrate the holiday, don’t forget the Christmas tree, which will introduce yang (active) energy into your home during this joyful time of year.
