Looking Back at What I’ve Learned

by Maria Khalifé

A-Healing-Path_OM-TimesI’ve learned that age is an issue of mind over matter. I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter because I think of myself as ‘youthful maturity.’ I own every moment of every year of it. Do you?

I‘ve learned that whether you are convinced that you can do something, or you are convinced that you can’t, you are always right because you are 100% in charge. I always choose “Yes, I can.” What do you choose?

I‘ve learned that people may forget what you said, people will surely forget what you did, but people will never relinquish how you made them feel, bad or good. I try my best to make them feel good. I hope I have succeeded so far with you. How do you want to make people feel?

I‘ve learned that when we fear less, we can hope more; If we eat less, we will chew more; If we whine less, we will breathe more; and if we talk less, our words will say more; and lastly, if we love more, then all good things will eventually be ours. I always choose to Hope More, Say More, Breathe More, and Love More. What do you choose?

I‘ve learned that we arrive at love not by seeing or embracing a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. I know it is hard, but it is worth giving it a chance. I am working on it, and I love it. What about you?

I’ve learned that age is an issue of mind over matter. I don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter because I think of myself as ‘youthful maturity.’ I own every moment of every year of it. Do you?
