The Fear of Judgement

The Fear of Judgement

by Judi Lynch

It might be said that the fear of judgment is the root cause of all the anxiety over religion. Follow the rules we have set, or you will be judged. These teachings must be adhered to or a fiery hell will be your punishment. This is a big part of what I was taught in church growing up. On the flip side, there was this awesome man they talked about who did miraculous things which gave us all hope for salvation in Heaven.

That was the part that resonated with me. I had to search for the answers to the rest. I needed my own answers, not someone else’s opinion or belief that made no sense to my prying heart. I learned to question everything, to finally investigate the spiritual paths that healed me and opened up the metaphysical miracles we were all meant to experience.

The other day I was happy to receive a beautiful card in the mail from a relative, until I read what she had written. She said she did not approve of what I do but she loved me anyway. My first reaction was surprise that she thought I needed her approval for anything. Secondly, I was just a little hurt inside. What did she not approve of? Was it my spiritual charity? Helping homeless people and animals? Donating to build schools in Africa? Is it the grief counseling I offer? What is it that I do, that I have personally received the most judgment for? Of course the answer was my spiritual beliefs and my work as a psychic medium and healing channel.

I believe in the beauty and honor of many religions and beliefs, holding that we are all connected to a God Source which brings us light and healing. When I was old enough, I began to study and practice for myself. For me, connecting to the spiritual energy through the Christ Consciousness was miraculous! Light filled joy! Others may find their open doors through the teachings of Kabbalah or Buddha.

The beauty of it all is that we all believe! We create the Heaven we inherit. If we spread love, we create more love.

Love overcomes the negativity and judgment that ride on fear and control. If we are being oppressed or we are oppressing ourselves by not living our truth, it does us harm to practice beliefs we have outgrown. I personally learned a long time ago, when we are free to truly break away from the negative family dynamics and dramas that hold us back, we can truly soar in our purpose. This applies to our spiritual and religious families as well. If your heart and soul are resonating and you feel healed and uplifted, then perhaps you are right where you need to be.

In the study and practice of the spiritual consciousness, I lost my fear of judgment by God. I began to understand that we are here to perfect our souls and learn from our experience. We are the judge as God stands with us to forgive and heal what we need to forgive and heal ourselves from. This was a fantastic discovery for me! I was free to feel the joy and energy that come from connecting and without the dogma I had been programmed to believe in. We have the freedom to choose what we believe and how we personally shine our light. There is no one who can ever take that from us which resides deep in our soul and fulfills our purpose.
