Practical Tools for Your Spiritual Journey – Part 3
A group of people may have all had the exact same experience, but will each perceive the experience differently based on their own perception. It is next to impossible to alter someone’s perception. In circumstances that you do not see “eye-to-eye,” simply listen and then practice non-attachment to the outcome. This means that you are recognizing what you have heard, but you are not allowing another individual’s perception to influence your own.
Express your Gratitude Gratitude is an expression of thankfulness. The simple words, “Thank you,” extend far beyond their utterance. They are an acknowledgement of appreciation. Thanking another individual for having completed a task, the extension of a hand in friendship, and even the recognition of a compliment, reflect the gratitude you are feeling. In addition, acknowledging and expressing gratitude for that which you are thankful for assists you in becoming a better YOU. In doing so, we remind ourselves of what we do have rather than focusing solely on our desires.
Trust in the Process Trusting in the process means to have confidence in the process and to have confidence in yourself. You are permitting yourself to do something without fear of the outcome. You are going full-steam ahead knowing that this is your life to live. You are living a life of purpose!
Trust that everything is happening how and when it is supposed to. The Universe does not operate on human’s linear time; it operates on Divine time. Fear and worry serve no purpose other than creating more fear and worry. They go hand and hand inhibiting and creating blockages in our life. Fear tends to suppress living because we avoid taking risks in life. We are fearful of the outcome or what others may think of us so we avoid taking the risk altogether.
