30 Days of Healing Food – Day 11
With raw foods we gain many wonderful live nutrients that neutralize our cravings for foods thus we feel more at peace. We lose weight because raw foods are not as concentrated as cooked foods, thus we feel full quickly and the sensors in our stomach tell us we have everything we need in the way of nutrients. This sets off a cascade of effects in our brain telling us we are happy, peaceful, and no longer needing to worry about food.
Raw foods also lower cholesterol and triglycerides and at the same time increase good cholesterol. If you think about cocoa powder compared to raw cacao beans there are multiple times more nutrients in the raw version compared to the cooked and processed version. Thus raw foods play a vital role in creating health and vitality.
Cooked foods makes us feel happy when we eat them (comfort foods)… and some foods need to be cooked to extract all the nutrients from them. In fact many foods are toxic if not cooked, and cooked food kills pathogens that might be present in our foods, and because of that cooked foods do play a vital role in health and wellness.
Cooked foods unlock the digestibility of many foods like rice, corn, and many grains in general because many of the nutrients are locked inside protective layers of fibers thatmay not be digestible. Plus studies with fertility show that eating some cooked food does increase fertility.
The body considers all cooked foods invaders… and this starts the process of while cell production attacking the invading food, putting a huge stress on our immune system. And with all the stress in the world stressing the body with too much cooked food might not be good.
