A New Spiritual & Intuitive You – Day 6
Optimism and surrounding myself with positive things go a long way. The same thing goes for what I watch on TV, my favorite shows are usually positive documentaries or shows on the Food Network. It’s hard to make food negative. Listening to uplifting music can do wonders for your mood as well. There are other external things you can do to increase your overall happiness, like exercise and eating healthier foods. The physical movement of exercise, even if it’s just walking, creates endorphins, which make you feel good and the muscles moving help get rid of toxins in your body. So, just a little less negative TV and a little more exercise could move your happiness set point a bit higher. A little at a time adds up to a lot later on.
The last thing that can boost your happiness is Spirituality. Spirituality can bring you into the present to have more meaningful experiences and it can also help take the weight of the world off your shoulders. So how does spirituality do all that for us? Knowing that there is something greater than us, and believing that we are being guided and taken care of by something larger than you, is a great relief. The more you can grow your faith in that, the more comfort you will have as you go through your ups and downs in life.
Take some time over the next day or so and see if you can do some of these things to improve your happiness. See if you can recognize when you are happy now, not in the past. List some things that make you happy and then do them!
