Around the Wheel of Life – Day 1

Putting the Effort Forward

The next step to bringing balance into your life is putting the effort towards it. I find it supportive to ask yourself what you want regarding a specific area of your life. Once that is done, then you can begin to set some intentions regarding that area. Sometimes, you have to make a choice because the game of life is based upon choices. For example: you may find that the mental area of your life is unbalanced; however, you spend many hours watching television. You will have to make a choice; you will have to choose to turn the TV off, and you could spend that time reading a book, or learning something new.

Another example could be that work time is taking away from your family time. This seems like a no brainer; spend less time with work related issues and spend time with your family. For many of you, this could be tricky; after all, you have to make money for your family to live on. Balancing your life is not about stopping work, or cutting your nose off to spite your face. The one thing that I would urge you to look at is the big picture, your whole life. If you think that at the time of your death, you will regret the choices and actions you made today, then take a look at them now! In many situations, you may be surprised what thirty minutes here and there can do to bring your life into balance.
