Make an Appointment with Yourself
As you are bringing your life into balance, make an appointment with yourself; it can have an enormous impact on your life. Yes, make an appointment with yourself to rest, set time aside to read, or spend time with yourself or your family. Make an appointment to take yourself out on a date, or read a book for leisure, or to learn something new. As you are seeing the areas of your life that are unbalanced, saying to yourself that you will eventually make some time for that is not going to do anything to better your life or bring it into balance. If you don’t already have a calendar, start one, and set time aside each week to address the areas that you will uncover throughout this exercise. You are worth it, and having happiness and peace is also worth it. No one can do this for you; you are going to have to make some choices, and NOW is that moment.
Speaking of choices, I would urge you to reexamine this at least once a year, if not more. You may have to keep making a choice to maintain the balance that you find through this exercise. As I have said, it can be difficult to keep your life balanced; life keeps on happening, and old habits die hard, so keep choosing. I hope you choose to continue to live in Awareness. Finding and maintaining balance is not something that you do once, and then it is done. Periodically, give some attention to the balancing act that is called your life.
