Anodea Judith – The Global Heart Awakens
Getting out of touch, we lose our moral compass. All suffering is the result of ignorance. Getting in touch, we realize what matters.
What’s Love got to do with it?
Thich Nhat Han said the next Buddha will not be a person but a community.
The Dalai Lama said that women will lead the next revolution, for it is women that feed relationship and community.
It is what we do together that counts now.
Love is the organizing principle of the infinite relationships that make life possible. I talk in the book about how Darwin was misrepresented. He talked about love and cooperation more than he talked about competition. He didn’t even coin survival of the fittest, and when he mentioned it, he apologized for it!
Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said “Love alone is capable of uniting human beings in such a way as to complete and fulfill them, for it alone takes them and joins them by what is deepest in themselves..”
And what can individuals do to help this shift to the power of love?
First, realize that you are part of a huge and massive change, and that if you’re not changing, if you’re not letting go of the old and developing the new, you’re going to get left behind. You’re part of the problem, not the solution.
Second, realize that you are an instrument in this change, and as an instrument, it is essential to engage in practice— spiritual practice. We are coming together in a grand symphony of creation, and we need our spiritual practices, such as meditation, to help us play well with each other.
