Manifesting Abundance

By Ann Christine Johnson

Each of us has a set of core beliefs that are seldom questioned or inspected. Normally parents and events shape our beliefs, which are formed at a very early age. Most of us will either adopt our parents’ beliefs or we will rebel against them. Major life events such as starting or ending a relationship, the death of a parent or child, bankruptcy or changing economic times can influence our attitudes; as well there’s a correlation between personal events and world events such as war, natural disaster, depression or inflation that can shape the beliefs of an entire generation.

Abundance is a subconscious belief. If deep down you believe that you’re unworthy of having abundance in your life then you will create situations in your life that support and sustain this (belief). You need to have a core belief that you deserve to be prosperous in all areas of your life in order to make it reality. Often we are unconscious of our core beliefs – unaware of the beliefs we have adopted. The way to discover what your core beliefs are is to look at what you have created in your life up until now; to have a really good look at key areas in your life – your body (weight, condition, health); your home, finances, work and car; your relationships.

This will allow you to get an idea of what your core beliefs have been up until now; to assess whether this is truly what you want for yourself and your life; to get a good idea of whether you believe deep down you’re worthy of receiving all that your heart desires. Remember, though, if you’re chasing material wealth and allowing it to be the main focus of your life, you may be sacrificing other (important) things. What’s required here is for you to maintain balance in your life – time to make the money and accumulate the worldly goods that will allow you to live in comfort, safety and peace; and time to maintain the relationships that are important to you, especially the relationship with yourself.

Manifesting abundance in our lives starts with us becoming aware of our feelings – feelings are a feedback mechanism that tells us whether we are ‘on track’, or not. Emotions let us know what we are thinking. Whatever thought has done in your life can be undone simply by changing your thinking. Thoughts are the tool we use to paint the canvas of our lives. If you feel ‘stuck’, overwhelmed or confined by your current circumstances, then change your thinking. Your circumstances are your current reality. This can be changed by shifting your emotions. When we celebrate the ‘good’ feelings – love, hope, joy, happiness, tranquility and positive expectation – we will attract to us more good feelings and more things to make us feel good.

Manifesting abundance in our lives starts with us being grateful for every single aspect of our lives; with us looking around our immediate environment and then focusing on the things that please us; with us intentionally looking for things to appreciate even in trying situations; with us not condemning what we want or desire; with us declaring and embracing what we desire even if it has no presence in our life yet; with us making a list – in the present tense – of all the things that we really want to manifest in our lives and why we want to manifest them; with us believing that all these things all already ours; with us waiting patiently to receive our desires. The ‘when’ and ‘how’ will take care of themselves; they will show up out of the commitment and belief of the ‘what’; with us making a list of the various beliefs we have about abundance, particularly in relation to money and work so we can expose the ones which get in the way of us attracting it.

Financial difficulties or struggling to ‘make ends meet’ means you haven’t convinced your subconscious that you will always have money and some to spare. Most of us know people who work a few hours a week and make huge sums of money. They do not strive or work hard. Do not believe the myth that the only way you can become wealthy is by hard work – this simply isn’t true. The effortless way is the best way, so do the thing you love to do; do it with enthusiasm and passion and the money will follow.

It is your right to be prosperous. There is no virtue in poverty, struggle or destitution. You’re here to lead an abundant life – to be happy, healthy, successful and free. True abundance has a spiritual basis. God is the source of our supply. Our talents and abilities are all channels of our abundance and therefore it is to your own benefit to do the things that keep you in touch with this source if you want to be consistently wealthy. Systematic sharing of your income – ‘tithing’ to support a religious organisation, church, spiritual teacher or worthy cause – will result in the opening up of systematic receiving. With no expectation of receiving any thanks, give with detached generosity and release absolutely what you have given to others and you will receive all that you need to live well many times over.
