OMTimes: How can we protect ourselves from unwanted contact?
Jacky Newcomb: There is no danger in using the Messages From Heaven cards. The cards contain loving messages only. I only work with love and pure intent (intention is key). I’m a firm believer that you get back what you put out. I like to imagine myself being surrounded by a white light of protection (like a cloud), and then imagine that is surrounded by angels. I will also say a prayer and always work with God. Over the years, in the dream visitations people have shared with me, a common phrase came up. In answer to the question, “Why are you here?” the spirits have replied, “God gave me permission to come back.” I feel we are developed enough as a species to have this loving contact. My experience shows that when people know their loved-ones are safe, they feel happier about carrying on with their own lives.
OMTimes: What separates you from other angel and afterlife experts?
Jacky Newcomb: Each author has a message, a journey, a teaching which they have filtered using their own personalities. We all interpret that message in a slightly different way and the world needs this variety. Everyone finds their own storyteller.
My interpretation has been to keep things very down-to-earth. Someone once told me that I have a way of explaining something potentially terrifying and making it seem normal and non-frightening; I was very proud of that. I base all of my work, my knowledge that I share in my books and cards, on my own personal experiences and those of my family and readers. For the most part, my work is not ‘channeled’; I write what I have lived. My knowledge is based on reading thousands and thousands of true-life stories and talking to fans all over the globe.
