Jill V. Mangino: Why does the shift from the 5th to the 6th Sun mean for us? Why does the Sixth sun mean the sun of “darkness” and the return of the Mexhicas-dreamers?
Sergio Magaña: The long count of the Aztec calendar, that is the outer ring represented by two serpents with human head, is a count of 26,500 years, like the procession of equinoxes, that we split in 4, because this number is considered like the matrix of the universe of cycles, because of 4 elements, faces of moon, seasons, etc… That gives you cycles of 6,625 that we name suns. The suns alternate, there are sun of light, darkness, and combined ones. The fifth sun is one of light, or tonal, the awake in which like in the waking state we see outside, God is put outside, satisfaction, medicine, like the world in which we have been living, the 6th sun is one of darkness, that means the nahual sun, like closing eyes, forced to see inside, your unconscious mind and of course in your dreams.
Jill V. Mangino: What is the core message, as you say what was once considered “lost” is now found can you elaborate? Why was this knowledge only kept reserved for the elite, rulers, warriors and priests of Ancient Mexico? Why is this hidden knowledge and prophecy being revealed now?
Sergio Magaña: That your dreams create your awake, and not in the other way round. Of course the one that controls the dream, has the power, and of course the elite group of all times never reveals their rituals and practices to keep the power, that is why Nahualism was only taught to rulers, warriors and priests of that time.
