Sergio Magaña: The Toltec Secret
Jill V. Mangino: What is it important for us to master the art of Dreaming?
Sergio Magaña: There was a mexihca phrase that said “The one that doesn´t remember his or her dreams is like a living death because has no control of his awake life”. This means that first you dream it and then it happens. This is hidden in all the languages of the world, everyone says: The girl of my dreams, the house of my dreams, my worst nightmare, etc.., showing us how in the language is what the elders knew about the importance of the dreams, so dreams are the best way to control what you are going to live awake.
Jill V. Mangino: How can “dreaming” impact our lives? How can we create our life by our dreams? You say a person who is able to dream consciously will die consciously , can you explain more about this concept? What is the difference between dreaming while awake (lucid) and when sleeping? And how can our dream state work to manifest our reality with 4 times the power of our waking state?
Sergio Magaña: There are disciplines in the old traditions to create your life through dreams. For example in the toltec tradition is one called Mexicatzin in which you destroy what you don´t want in your awake, the dreams that created it, and then you plant the dream of what you would like to experience, and the harvest would be of course to live it.
Temictli in nahuatl, the ancient language that was used by toltecs and aztecs, mean dream but also mean the one that died, so it was considered that we had two cycles, the small one, awake sleeping, and the big one, life and death. So if you are able to recognize your dreams, probably you will be able to recognize in the moment of your death, the dream of death, and have other possibilities, not only coming back forgetting.
