Believe in the Impossible

“They did not know it was impossible, so they did it.” –Mark Twain

As a spiritual medium, I love to teach and help people to become more aware and harness the power of their psychic senses. Many of the students who attend my workshops have only the rudimentary skills and don’t know how to truly use their psychic skills, which is often dormant in most people.

Every once in a while, there will be a student in attendance at one of my beginning workshops who turns up, and it’s clear that they don’t really know exactly why they are there. Perhaps they accompanied a friend who didn’t want to come alone, or they are just curious, or it’s that they were destined to attend as though guided there. For all I know, this reluctant student may not even believe in anything “psychic” or know what that means. But, more often and not, they’re the stand-out student who comes away completely surprised by how well they did during the workshop.

How could that be? I believe it’s because they had very little or no expectation of what is not possible.

It is Possible to Believe in the Impossible!

When we hold the belief that something is difficult or next to impossible, it can quickly become a self-fulfilling prophecy. When we’re very young, we have no reason not to believe that anything is impossible as we approach life with that innocence of thinking that we can pretty much do anything and there are no barriers. During those early years, we haven’t been taught to think that way. But so many of us become conditioned over time by society, family and life circumstances. We develop the belief that life is meant to be difficult and we aren’t capable or deserving of a successful and joy-filled life where we achieve our goals and meet our aspirations.

To invite the life that you truly want to live, there may be old beliefs or past conditioning that need to be recognized and addressed. However, once these old legacies are dismantled and discarded, you’ll be able to more fully benefit from visualization techniques and positive affirmations. I believe that it’s okay to say: “I aspire to be …” and fill in the blank. After all, if you don’t aspire to be something, how do you ever become who you’re meant to be. Whether you aspire to be an artist, or aspire to be a musician, or just aspire to be a good cook … all of these aspirations are out there, and it’s up to you to seize them and believe in the impossible.

JOHN’S LESSON

In this lesson, I want you to focus on something that you feel is out of reach or that you thought could never happen.

Take a few minutes each day to envision yourself in the scene as if you already have what you desire. If you choose to meditate, say over and over in a steady rhythm, “I aspire to be …..”

By envisioning the completed image everyday (do it a few times throughout the day, maybe start before you get up in the morning, in the afternoon, or whenever you can and let it be the last thing you do before you drop off to sleep) it will help your soul and the Universe to work in partnership, by bringing to you what you aspire for and what’s for your highest good.

Make it a regular practice to say: “What if…?” Don’t underestimate the power of a day-dream. When you can temporarily suspend disbelief and imagine possibilities, it gives your intuition a chance to chime in and offer you clues to what you need to do next to reach your goals.

Visualize positive outcomes and don’t limit your beliefs of what is actually possible.

Have a SOUL-filled week!
