Crotalo Sesamo: The Magic of Damanhur
Sandie Sedgbeer: Tell us about Selfica intelligent healing tools you produce.
Crotalo Sesamo: Selfica is one of many fascinating fields of research for us. “Self” means spirals, which is an ancient knowledge, or language. Many different civilizations around the planet used the symbol of the spiral, which is one of the most important symbols, because we find it above as in the shape of galaxies, and also below, as in our DNA. We are surrounded by many different forms of sacred geometry, and Selfica adds the element of metals, crystals, and other materials to this sacred geometry, as practical tools to catalyze this intelligent energy to support us in different ways.
Sandie Sedgbeer: What is your role at Damanhur, and what are your responsibilities?
Crotalo Sesamo: At the moment, my main responsibility is to be an ambassador for Damanhur, which is a great honor. I represented Damanhur at the United Nations Global Day of Happiness in March. I also open new centers for Damanhur and teach how to create successful intentional communities around the world. In 2007, I started Damanhur, Colorado, which is the largest and most important embassy of Damanhur in the United States.
Our vision for the future is that there will be thousands of different communities of people dreaming something new for the planet. After 40 years, we have a little bit of experience in terms of human dynamics, or issues about responsibility, leadership, power, or conflict. So, we help people to understand what a community is, as well as the best path to create a community on a very practical level. Our aim is not to create other Damanhur community, but to help people to find and create their own community, based on their dreams because the planet needs diversity very much.
Sandie Sedgbeer: Damanhur’s Mystery School offers a three-year curriculum that leads participants on an intense journey of self-discovery, what else do you offer?
Crotalo Sesamo: It’s important to make spirituality available for everyone, so we offer a number of shorter practical courses on a variety of topics including astral travel, past life research, and spiritual physics.
Sandie Sedgbeer: I’m sure that, after experiencing Damanhur, many people want to come back and live there. How easy is it to become part of your community?
Crotalo Sesamo: It’s easy to fall in love with Damanhur. But Damanhur is a very practical experience. So for those who want to become Damanhurians we say “join us for at least six months. Live the experience of being with us, research with us, work with us, and after six months; you can see if it’s true love or not. After all, you don’t want to marry the first person you fall in love with, you want to test the relationship a bit first.
There is also the New Life program, where for three months you live in our nucleus, our houses, and eat, sleep, dream and work like a Damahurian so you can have your own personal experience of how it is to live in a community.
People also gather at Damanhur from all over the world not only to celebrate the solstice and equinox, and reconnect with nature and the rhythm of this planet, but also to meet with others who have the same ideas about life.
