Scared, Yet Moving Forward
by Suzie Daggett
Dear Source…a friend is making brave and necessary changes in her life. She has known for many years she could not sustain her marriage and started taking classes and going to seminars to find ways to reclaim her power. The time finally came when action needed to be taken. She cried herself to sleep most nights thinking about leaving her married life of 25 years, her adrenals were overly stressed and shot, she was barely functioning, she worried that moving her mom (who lived in the second unit on the property) would have unseen consequences, she worried she would be angry at her husband thus blowing all the training over the last five years. She had given all she could to resolve an unresolvable relationship. Her mom suggested going to church would avoid a divorce as church solves everything. Her husband remained closed and unapproachable. She preserved. She had to for her sanity and soul. She accomplished the massive cleanup; retained a real estate broker; searched for an apartment to rent; searched for an assisted living facility for her mom; searched for a place to rehome her husband’s dogs, and continually looked into her heart and soul to be sure she was on the right path with this massive life change. She remained scared and felt ungrounded one minute and proud and strong the next. As she moved through the multitude of tasks she needed to do, everything started falling into place with startling ease. The facility her mom wanted suddenly had a room, the on-going cleanup was progressing, the dogs were rehomed, the right apartment fell into her lap, the house went on the market and received two offers within two days, the move out was imminent. She was still scared, down to the toes scared, but she knew she had to do this. With all she has gone through, she does not recommend an action like this unless one is fully prepared for all the consequences. Any life upset like hers is deeply troubling, yet vitally essential. She is breathing with awareness knowing she has made the most important decision of her life allowing her soul to finally come alive, her body to recover and her mind to be active rather than live any longer in a dead and unhealthy space.
