Walking Through Grief

It comes to all of us in our human lives here, the first time we feel grief after a loss. It doesn’t ever hit you quite the same after the first time. It becomes a different process every time you feel it. A beloved pet, an older relative or even a friend in childhood.

The emotions we feel evolve and change as we grow into ourselves as adults and view death from a different perspective. We can see life as a process of our spiritual consciousness. To grow in purpose and light or remain completely unaware of the why we are here and still be okay with whatever life brings. We choose how we live and how we think of death.

How to live with grief and loss

It seems the most difficult to lose someone we love before we think it’s time for them to go. It may appear to us this human life is cruel and unfair to take our loved ones from us while we are left to grieve. If we look at the whole of the person and what they meant to us, we begin to see the meaning of our own existence more clearly.

We touch each other’s lives in ways we can never begin to fathom unless we look deeper into our connections as spiritual beings. Our loved ones came into our lives for a reason. If we loved, learned, evolved and were brought more into our own true purpose because of them then we can also learn to celebrate the lives which were enriched because they were here.

When someone takes their own life it can be the hardest thing to comprehend for those of us who love being here. The grief is different in a suicide because the survivors are given the soul searching opportunity to ask themselves if they could have changed the situation in any way. They can feel tremendous guilt even though they would never have chosen this outcome for someone who was battling depression, physical or emotional pain. If you believe the soul contemplates their own lifetimes, then a soul learns to forgive themselves and move forward in their own spiritual evolution.

Understanding grief and how love goes on

We can help to heal our own pain by understanding the soul is always forgiven in unconditional love and remember the joy this person brought to our lives while they were here. If they ever joined you in celebrations, long conversation or a walk in the park, those are the moments to keep in your soul journal. If you pray, then pray for them and light a candle. If you believe that our lives have a purpose and meaning then you will know their energy is always with you. Your loved ones and your beloved pets have moved on in dimension but their love and energy are ever existing.

It’s okay to feel sadness. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be angry. No one can tell you how to grieve. The best way to handle it is to walk through it with your heart. Let yourself feel it all. These experiences have truly come to you for a higher meaning and purpose. Your choices do matter. What you feed your body, mind and soul matter as to how you view existence. We may never know how much time we gave ourselves here in this incarnation of life. We can celebrate the lives of those who loved us and live the rest of reality with purpose.

Kindness during grief, and coping

Be kind to your heart when it is grieving over loss. Reach out if you need to and talk to someone who understands your feelings. These times require courage for so many to adjust their lives. Go out to meet new people and have new experiences. Help someone you know is in grief right now if you can. Listen.

Take time to absorb the evolution of your life, how it is in constant change and motion. If they can hear it there will always be someone who will reach back with unconditional love and understanding. If you ever feel your grief is overwhelming to the point of not existing here anymore; please remember this.

You still have reason to be here, make a quest to find out why. Someone will miss you dearly and grieve the loss of your light if you make the choice to leave. Your purpose is still unfolding as long as you are here. Grief can overtake a sensitive heart but hope can bring you back to living again.
