The True Name of God

By Nadia Khalil Bradley

If you have been wondering what God’s real name is, you’re not alone.  You want an answer and you ask people from every walk of life.  But yet, there’s still something missing. Something doesn’t feel quite right.  In reality, people will never have the “right” answer that will satisfy your thirst. People are simply doing what they do and it’s up to you to derive what you need from the information they present.

There are as many different names for God as there are religions and countries and people. Although that sounds vast, keep in mind that if there were no words and we had no language we would still know what we know. God’s name is a feeling more than it is a name. It is something we believe because we know it and feel it. On the other hand, if you don’t feel it you will never believe it.

Sometimes we want proof of everything and anything before we will believe it. There’s a mindset that says that if you can’t prove it to me, I will not believe it. That is ego saying to you, “I am going to keep you from relaxing and never resting in love”. Acceptance of what any of us feel is really the issue here.

I often forget the names of the feminine aspect of God, but I know it’s there. I never forget the name of God to myself, it is just God. The word I’ve always used and heard the most. I speak another language, yet I still use the word God, simply because it’s the word I have heard the most.

If I could not hear or speak, I would probably only know God as a feeling of love. If I got caught up in what was out there I would feel lost and alone. Yet I know what I feel and see. The fact that I can put words to it gave me an opportunity to write a book about what I have come to know and have seen. And what I’ve come to know and see is that God already loves us, no matter what name we use; the words aren’t want counts, it’s the feeling.

You will never get a clear-cut answer from anyone on Earth because finding out the true name of God means trusting your own soul to feel and allowing your soul to explore the world through truth and love and purity. It will lead you to the best of your own soul and then you too will have a harder time explaining it, because it is such a deep feeling that it’s hard to quantify. That is why it is called faith. I know truth, love and purity exist but I don’t have to see them to know that they are there; I have faith that they exist because I see their effects.

People join religions because they want to know more. In truth they already know what they’re seeking. However, religions make them question themselves and in some cases, even make them feel bad for themselves. That’s when people start to rebel at being made to feel like they aren’t enough and never can be. So now you have some people who have started walking away knowing that what they feel is truer than what they have been told.

No one on Earth can prove faith to you, nor can they give you the true name of God. Yet when you allow faith in your life without getting in your own way, you will understand what you were born knowing.  You might feel like along the way it got taken away from you so you want to be sure about what you are putting inside of you by finding proof. What you should really do is live in love, act out of love, make decisions with love, and practice self accounting.  This will lead to you the greatest understanding of what you seek.
