Be In The Pause
In Day 10 of the challenge, I introduced you to the “Trinity Of Life.” The trinity explained the premise that when a situation occurred, it would create a thought or a series of thoughts, and those thoughts would create a feeling or multiple feelings. Those two things (thoughts and feelings) would attempt to dictate your next action, and in many situations this action would be a reaction rather than a response. I also explained that there is a pause between each component (thought, feeling, action). This pause can often be brief, and it can appear to even be more brief when you have little to no awareness around it. When you are aware of the pause, there is a greater potential for your action to be a response compared to those moments when you automatically flip into reaction mode. When you are aware of the pause, it can appear that you can extend this pause to be as long as you need it to be, and therefore respond.
For your challenge today, I want you to be VERY aware of the pause. I want you to begin to take full advantage of the pause. Specifically, I want you to be in the pause within each situation today as they arise. I want you to be in the pause long enough that you can respond to each situation as the day unfolds.
