Feeling and Being Spiritual

being-spiritual_OMTimes

I wanted to inspire you with this article, so that as you journey through life, you will encounter moments that will literally take your breath away! These moments may well take you by surprise; they can make you weep, laugh, or want to scream out from the top of a mountain. It’s easy to ignore such moments, and treat them like any others, but I want to remind you how sacred they are. I believe that these moments have been sent to teach us valuable life lessons; that it’s all about both feeling and, more importantly, being spiritual.

Being Spiritual Means a Powerful Soul Connection

As you’ve read many of my articles about the soul, and how the power of the soul connects us, as though we’re part of a collective by being part of the human experience, then you will appreciate that we get to share similar highs and lows together. In a way, you could interpret that as sharing spiritual moments, which are intended to put us in touch with spirit.

How many times have you found yourself thinking about someone, when all of a sudden a song comes on the radio? It’s as though, that person secretly called into the radio station and requested that very song! It would be easy to rationalize it, ignore the coincidence or just say: “No that’s impossible, it’s just a radio station.” But I believe that these are signs, they are not just coincidences, that they’re signs from spirit, from a loved one to let you know they’re still thinking of you, still loving you and that they’re okay. It’s like it’s an exclusive message just for you!

As many of us travel for both work and pleasure, we often find ourselves sitting next to a total stranger on the train or a plane. Maybe most of the time, you rarely interact, but just sit there with your head in a book, or your headphones plugged in. Sometimes, when a stranger strikes up a conversation, they might start off with something that strikes a chord, as though you were thinking about that a few moments before. While I always advocate to be careful of strangers and to listen to your gut, there are times when by listening to what they say can bring great comfort. Certain strangers step into our path for a reason, to somehow deliver a message. It’s as if they utter words specifically for you. So next time you find yourself sitting next to a stranger who starts up a conversation doesn’t be too quick to turn your back.

Feeling and being spiritual starts from within. It starts from how you behave, how you react to others, how you treat you, friends and family, how you love, how you respect … and above all, how you love yourself.

JOHN’S LESSON

This week, just focus on being spiritual in a few, simple, day-to-day tasks, namely:

>> be more intentional – in other words, by approaching each day with an attitude of being intentional, you will set aside time for people and things that are important. Amidst the overwhelming schedules, we all lead, just set aside that precious time, so that you create space for growth … space for opportunities to be born … space for forgiveness, and space for yourself.

>> be more consistent – so that as you grow spiritually, you do it with consistent effort, the systematic dedication of time, and consistent passion. As your family and friends become aware of your heightened spirituality, their relationship with you will become stronger and healthier as a result.

So, by becoming more intentional with a consistent approach, you will define the direction you need to take. Having a clear sense of direction in life, enables you to use intention to get you to your desired destination. So next time you find yourself having one of those spiritual moments of enlightenment or synchronicity … just stop and see what the message is all about and whether it’s encouraging you in some way to be more intentional.

Have a SOUL-filled week!
