Mark Nepo, is a poet and philosopher who has taught in the fields of poetry and spirituality for over 30 years. He is best known for his New York Times #1 bestseller, The Book of Awakening. He has published sixteen books and recorded eleven audio projects, and has just published a new, expanded edition of Inside the Miracle: Enduring Suffering, Approaching Wholeness (Sounds True, 2015), which gathers twenty-eight years of his writing and teaching about suffering, healing, and wholeness, including many new poems and prose pieces not yet published. Mark’s transformative experience of cancer in his mid-thirties changed the way he sees the world and made him a student of all spiritual paths. The lessons in this book come from his journey through cancer, but are really for everyone, as we all struggle to make our way through unexpected hardship.

Mark was part of Oprah Winfrey’s The Life You Want Tour in 2014 and has appeared several times with Oprah on her Super Soul Sunday program on OWN TV. He has also been interviewed by Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. Mark devotes his writing and teaching to the journey of inner transformation and the life of relationship.
