Rabbi Elana Zaiman – The Forever Letter
As we get older, many of us contemplate our legacy. We draft wills designating our beneficiaries to ensure that our material and worldly goods are distributed according to our desires. What about our spiritual legacy? How may we impart to our loved ones our values and beliefs, heal rifts and disagreements and leave a lasting record of intentional living.
My guest this week on Destination Unlimited, Rabbi Elana Zaiman, says we can do this by creating The Forever Letter. Elana Zaiman is the first woman rabbi from a family spanning six generations of rabbis. She serves as a chaplain and travels throughout the US and Canada as a scholar-in-residence, speaker and workshop facilitator covering such topics as forgiveness, healing, vulnerability and compassion. Her writings have been featured in magazines, literary journals, anthologies and newspapers. You can visit her on-line at ElanaZaiman.com and she joins me this week to discuss her brand new book, The Forever Letter: Writing What We Believe for Those We Love.
