The Planets this Week: December 18, 2017

What do the planets have in store for this week? The astro headline of the week is responsible Saturn moving into its home sign of Capricorn where it will be until December 2020. It has not been in Capricorn since 1991.

Saturn restricts, disciplines, and wears away. It doesn’t obliterate, like Pluto, or suddenly, like Uranus. Saturn erodes over time. Saturn isn’t necessarily a destroyer, though. It also strengthens and solidifies whatever passes its test. Saturn is a teacher. It’s not the cool teacher, giving out As to everyone (Jupiter). Saturn makes you learn and earn.

The sign of Capricorn is determined, ambitious, hard-working, and practical. Saturn in Capricorn is a leader, but it leads by example. Everything it has is useful and earned. During this transit, we may see a global return to focusing on achieving real, practical goals.

Also this week, there’s a New Moon. The Sagittarius New Moon awakens an inner need for many kinds of stimulation. Having recently completed a contemplative period, your body craves for some excitement now. You may find yourself daydreaming about travel to foreign lands, or maybe tackling a philosophical conundrum.

On Thursday the Sun moves into Capricorn where it will be until January 19th. While the Sun is in Capricorn, and depending on how it influences your natal chart, you may feel driven to succeed. You could find yourself working long hours to achieve your goals and bring long-term projects to completion. You might not have much time for your personal life, and might even neglect your health. In your drive to get the job done, be sure not to sacrifice too much. Make sure that what you’re working for is your definition of success, and not someone else’s.

Tune in on Monday 6pm PT/9PM ET to find out more…
