Through this tragic pandemic, many souls are leaving the earth at this time. It reminded me of a poem by Issac King:
“Death is all around us,
He is watching at us,
Observing us,
Waiting till we screw up,
So he can take our soul’s,
After we die”
How do process death and dying in the era of COVID-19? How does this time differ from transition in normal times? Are there ways to accomplish this during this period of separation and physical distancing? What may we offer as family and moreover as caretakers to those about to leave this world and give meaning, comfort and love to them?
