It’s been a source of wonderment since childhood. It’s been the subject of poetry, music, art and astrology. It’s been at the heart of tales of fantasy, horror, romance and magick! It is responsible for both ocean and emotional tides. Without it, life on Earth could not exist. Humanity has visited there and will visit again. Of course, I am referring to our Moon, also known as the Goddess Luna, and the spell she has cast on humankind from the very beginning. Why is the Moon so filled with magick and may we call upon her energies to heal us, empower us and as a focal point for our heart’s desires?

Melanie Marquis is the founder of the United Witches global coven and the organizer of Denver Pagans. She has written for Circle, Pentacle, and the American Tarot Association.
