I recently saw a video on social media that said, “Me on my way to tell my best friend I did the complete opposite of the advice that was given to me.” And I just started cracking up. I am guilty of seeking my best friend’s advice only to ignore it and do what I want. Life is funny that way. We all need to learn our own lessons, grow from our mistakes, and be a support for those we care about. Sometimes, the best thing to do is ask questions, hold space, create a non-judgmental space, be a witness to our favorite people in the world, and celebrate their successes…
I know I’ve been guilty of giving way too much advice or coaching when it wasn’t asked, and hopefully, day by day, we all learn to get a little bit better every day.
