Democracy survives on imagination disciplined by structure, observes thought leader Randall White. He’ll talk with us about the interplay of arts, democracy, and civic life, the role of creatives as essential witnesses to lies, the power of art to deconstruct hierarchies, and more.

Randall White is a theater-trained artist, arts advocate, and civic practitioner whose work connects creativity, community, and democracy. He began his career as an actor, director, and solo performer. He worked for two decades in nonprofit leadership with arts, education, and health organizations, then founded and led the consulting firm Elettore, which specialized in community relations, public affairs, and civic communications and produced large-scale, participatory public events that blended art, storytelling, and civic life.

In 2020, White founded 24HourDallas, a nonprofit advancing inclusive nighttime economies, and later launched 24HourNation, a national platform for nighttime advocacy. Since 2025, he has focused his writing and research on how artists can help preserve and renew democratic culture.
