She has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1989 and completed the LA County Bar Association’s mediation training program in 2001. She is co-founder of Infinite Solutions and sits on the board of various non-profit organizations.

Early in her life, Daya was so inspired by her father’s loving heart and peaceful nature, she decided to follow in his footsteps and become an attorney with the hope of one day working along side him in his practice. Unfortunately, he died from pancreatic cancer when she was only 16 years old. Despite the early hardship, Daya continued to dream of peace on earth and stayed the path to become an attorney.

In 1991, Daya started her career as a lawyer in private practice. At the same, she began to serve the community as a court-appointed, panel attorney for the Kenyon Juvenile Justice Center in South Central Los Angeles. There, she represented minors in criminal court proceedings while also working with liaison officers and families to create the best solution for those children in their family situations. In 2000 she become a mentor to incarcerated youth at the California Youth Authority in Ventura, CA. It was during this time that she began her conscious shift into family law.

In 2001, Daya received her Kundalini Yoga teacher’s training certification, which allowed her to step into teaching children’s yoga. She served as a volunteer for Yoga for Youth, a non-profit organization that teaches Yoga and Meditation to pregnant teenage mothers, and to minors in youth detention facilities. Daya has studied conscious and non-violent communication and has apprenticed with the Maori shaman from New Zealand and is an active member of the Agape community.

In 2006, the opportunity arose to move Settlement Works to Marina del Rey on board a 57′ yacht, aptly named Concordance. This name symbolizes the harmony that can exist between people with divergent viewpoints. Here, Settlement Works (Concordance Law) has evolved as a Center for Dynamic Family Resolution where legal issues are resolved with mutually beneficial outcomes that encourage communication and healing for both parties and their families. In addition, she has taken on cases supporting parents and an individual’s right to choose natural treatments for their children.

Today, Daya continues to put her open heart into action that lends support to social-activist organizations, causes, along with divorce, custody and dependency cases. Daya enjoys yoga and dance and lives with her fourteen year old son in Venice, California for whom she derives inspiration in her journey to serve families in need of healing.
