Sam will bust up the detrimental idea that there’s anything about you, that needs to be fixed. The Self-Help industry has capitalized on this by highlighting your own “self-critical” areas and validating that they indeed are ‘wrong’ and you need to ‘correct the problem’.
Expedition Self is of the OPPOSITE mindset.
We believe that ‘ALL of you is JUST RIGHT’, and that growth occurs NOT by squashing the less acceptable parts, but instead by learning and embracing ALL of you for the expansion of the WHOLE SELF. If we are to become and create that which is possible for us, cutting off facets of Self to do this is totally nonsensical.
This ‘wrong-making’ of aspects of SELF distorts our very valid, healthy, and useful need to evolve and build a meaningful, substantive relationship with the Self, and turns it into a self-defeating, culturally acceptable and normalized way of succeeding in life. During the Expedition Self show, we’ll talk about how to come from a new, more constructive place.
Why have we bought into this place of systemic self-contempt and negativity? This is indeed a complex subject, but it is one that MUST be tackled before you can yield the ability to BE and express the MORE of who you are.
