The Popularity of Angels

Looking back into history, it is difficult to find a civilization that doesn’t mention angels in one form or another. Beings that come and go without the confines of a physical body, but yet they are not disembodied spirits. They have vast amounts of knowledge, and so show themselves to be directly connected to the creator. Generally they have special skills, such as healing, and something about them is distinctly inhuman – they are always spoken of or depicted as though they are something more than us.

There are the wings as well, which are a source of controversy. Many people say that they have seen angels with wings, but these appendages are not generally used for flight. The wings are treated more like a sign–a way of letting people know they are talking to a special being. Many people experience angels without wings, which shows that the wings are more for our benefit than anything. It is hard to know where the wings started, or who started them (humans or the angels). The fact remains that they are part of the whole angel package and have been for a very long time.

Going back to the fact that most civilizations talk about angels in one way or another, this just highlights one reason why angels are so popular. They are a worldwide phenomenon, and they appear to individuals regardless of race, age, or religious views. These beings are non-denominational, and are simply here to assist anyone who asks for their help.
