Death Card: Tarot Arcane September 2020 OMTimes

The month of September brings The Death Card to the front, announcing sudden changes, transformations, renewals, and terminations.

September Arcanum – The Death Card and the Powerful Energy of Rebirth

The thirteenth Major Arcanum from the Tarot deck is the Death Card, and it is one of the most feared, although it is easy to lose his fear when studying your symbols.

The Death Card traditionally stands for transformations – changes that are not always foreseen but that are important for those who experience them or are faced with their many effects.

The key themes of this Tarot card are sudden changes, transformations, renewals, terminations, or cuts in all aspects, it may be the end of a relationship, loss of a job, end of a partnership. The end of this cycle change of understanding, search for something new, and powerful revelations.

One of the Tarot’s most feared cards is, at the same time, one of the most beautiful and important when related to our spiritual processes.

When the Death Card shows itself during a Tarot reading, it does not mean that you or someone you love will die. Well, in truth, we will all die someday, and that is more or less the root of the message that this mysterious letter holds. Death for us, reveals more an end of a Season, and the eminent start of something new, but yet in an embryonic state.

Let us say that everyone faces, at various points in their lives, the idea that inevitable Death will come. This reflection is traditionally called “memento mori” and can totally change the direction of someone’s life.

Death Card

The Death Card scares because it is unexpected and because it takes away the impression that things and people are eternal as if everything were forever according to our wishes.

Everything is changing all the time, from the baby in a mother’s womb in New York to a rock immersed in the Dead Sea. Understanding this dynamic of existence, that there is movement in everything. Unless we perceive or see it with the naked eye – the less fear we can have as much of this Tarot card as of this one, which is the only certainty of our lives.

Far from being a Tarot card that specifically foreshadows physical Death, The Death card is a sign that specific changes are important, both in us and in others and in the surroundings.

When Death rules a month, all attention is needed to the details of situations, feelings, and attitudes. Though there will be challenging moments of confrontation, panic, and anxiety in the face of the future and the unknown, we must realize that it is precisely in these moments that we need the strength to face what is not right and what deserves correction.

Death is the arcanum of the Tarot that reminds us that we have the power to choose better and to do differently.

Time to review attitudes, belief systems, world views, and the old Status quo.

In the context of everyday relationships, the Death card in September is a clear warning that certain friends and colleagues tend to be reevaluated. Even if we say that there is a lack of time and opportunities (with the pandemic) to meet with those we like, the truth is that our relationships and boundaries must also go through more severe and frequent reflections: is it not time to give up certain friends and companions and certain routines?

It is prudent to question whether some relationships are still important to your life or whether they are merely ‘leftover’ from a different phase in your life that no longer makes sense to you.

In any case, The Death card invites you to recycle and even reinvent friendships sincerely and serenely, without suddenly giving up whoever shares their lives with you on many levels. Assess your feelings when you go out or are around certain people. This may be the most propitious time to review your own idea of friendship and companionship. This is a collective call, as much as it is a personal one.

Embracing an Alchemical Reduction

If it is impossible to vibrate with the higher frequency of the `13th card, we can always go back to the energy of the 4th Major Tarot arcanum, the Emperor.

13 or 1+3= 4

The Card of the Emperor is part of the energy of the Archetype of Death.

September comes with a massive energy signature of the 2020 year, and its message reiterates the need to act like the Emperor and pay attention to our Immediate kingdom and organize the life and activities of our Realm.

It is not a secret that the myriad of archetypes of the Tarot is somewhat overwhelming the year 2020. The element of surprise keeps appearing in various sectors of our lives, causing uproar and, in many cases, social unrest. The recurrent element of surprise is impeding us to keep our lives organized or programmed, as we were used to. September promises to be the month where we must decide what will be our blueprint, we must determine what would be the new normal. The Energy of the Emperor would inspire the guidelines and the Treasure map to help us navigate to a place beyond the confusing waters caused by this pandemic and general chaos.
