Why It Helps to Wear Makeup at Home During Coronavirus

Unfortunately, a lot has changed in just a few short months. Our ordinary life and routines have taken quite a blow with everything going on in the world right now. We are practicing social distancing, and we’re staying at home much more than we tend to in our regular lives. All our sense of what is normal and regular is now disrupted.

However, amid all this craziness, some ways can help us keep some sense of normalcy. And believe it or not, one such way is wearing makeup and taking care of our skin. When there is nothing, we can do to change the circumstances we are currently living in, we have to adapt and take this time to practice mindfulness as well.

Then, let’s see why and how it helps to wear makeup at home during coronavirus quarantine.

Usual routine

In the first couple of weeks of quarantine, you probably thought there is no reason to wear makeup since you’ll be at home most of the time. And that’s exactly what you did – you used no makeup at all, and you even limited your skincare. By now, you have probably run out of all the things you’d typically do if the situation was regular. And now you’re slowly falling in a rut – psychological and physical equally.

The best way to deal with this unproductive period and to think about your psychological well-being is to keep your usual routine during the quarantine. This means waking up and putting on makeup exactly like you would if you were going to your workplace.

Having makeup on will probably inspire you to do something productive instead of just sitting down and flipping through channels.

Wearing makeup helps us find balance

Now, since you’re not actually rushing to get to work, you can take it easy and perfect your makeup routine carefully. This is the perfect time to be truly present when you’re doing your makeup – take time to think about what you’re putting on your face and also take time to be creative.

This is also a perfect time to find your inner balance. This is your time with your thoughts, and now is the ideal time to focus on yourself. Be present and engaged at that moment when you’re doing your makeup – be mindful.

Do something useful

While you’re sitting at home and browsing through endless makeup product sites, you can take time to do a little research on how much non-organic makeup is toxic not only to our skin but to our environment as well.

Now is a perfect moment to do something useful and think about switching to actual non-toxic organic makeup. Your skin will benefit from this move, your environment will benefit as well, and you will be mindful and eco-friendly.

Boosts creativity

Makeup is art, no doubt about it. Today, right now, while you’re sitting at home wondering what to do next, it is the perfect time to be creative and do a bit of makeup art.

Practice creativity, experiment with makeup styles, colors, and don’t be afraid to think out of the box. This is precisely what makeup gives us – a boost of creativity and a way to step beyond our limits of comfort.

And what a better time to do it than now when you’re trying desperately to find ways to entertain yourself and keep some sense of normalcy.

Keeps things fun and interesting

You know all those makeup tutorials you were itching to try out, but you never had the time? Well, now is the time to try them. Try as much makeup tutorials as you want, do trending makeup challenges, or even invent your own style.

Makeup is the perfect way to entertain yourself and to keep things fun and light during this difficult time. Keep things interesting, do different things, and try out new makeup styles every day. And who knows, maybe by the end of this quarantine, you’ll become a pro makeup artist!

Using makeup, even if it’s just a lipstick and mascara, can make a massive difference in this uncertain time. You may think, at first, that something so trivial and superficial can’t much change something so complicated like your psychological state. But once you put the makeup on, you’ll immediately feel the change.

You’ll be able to differentiate workdays from weekends, you’ll be inspired to do something productive and creative, you’ll get back your sense of normalcy and your usual routine. Plus, you can finally try all the different kinds and styles of makeup. And besides, you can start using sustainable and eco-friendly makeup in the process.

The momentary life disruption doesn’t mean that you have to stop living and doing things like you usually would do. It just means that you have to learn to do the same things differently!
