7 Commandments for Spiritual Work

Spiritual Work

Our spiritual life needs attention and following some rules for when we do Spiritual Work.

The Basic Commandments for Spiritual Work

To have the right concentration and be ready to perform our prayers, we need to follow some commandments that should never be left aside to do Spiritual Work. Below are some rules that need to be followed:

1. BALANCE

Keeping up with your spiritual self is essential for doing spiritual Work, but balance is needed. We cannot leave the material world to live only in the spiritual. Excess can create a decompensation that can damage a person’s life. Spiritual and material Work are two parts of the same unity. Neither side can prevail. The rule is to have balance.

Part of my spiritual Work is learning to live with the knowledge that we can’t protect our loved ones from pain and heartache. ~ Dani Shapiro

2. CONSTANCY

It is necessary to respect the natural order of things. One cannot seek to do spiritual Work searching for powers without first being aware of what is taking place. Powers come naturally at the right time, and you must wait for them. “The powers” developed in spiritual Work must be received and not generated only by our will.

3. DISCERNMENT AND MODERATION

To do Spiritual Work correctly, we cannot rely solely on the opinion of others. We need to have our discernment and moderation during our development. During initiation, this support is necessary, but it is essential to mature and gain knowledge.

4. HUMILITY

One of the fundamental rules for anyone who wants to do Spiritual Work is to be humble. We can never judge our Work to be superior to that of others. Esotericism is the opposite of the feeling of superiority.

Spiritual Work is not easy. It means the willingness to surrender feelings that seem, while we’re in them, like our defense against a greater pain. It means that we surrender to God our perceptions of all things. ~ Marianne Williamson

5. SERENE RESPONSIBILITY

Never take inconsequential actions. The impulse can break relationships with family members and coworkers unnecessarily. Impulsivity in the esoteric world is also harmful. An intense entry into spiritual Work can ruin your future in this world.

6. TOLERANCE AND RELAXATION

One should not act with rigidity. Upon receiving more information, the initiating person may believe that his mind is expanding and becoming less tolerant. There is a particular temptation to want to force others to accept your ideas and ways of conduct. Entering this state limits the capacity you were gaining and even reduces the awareness you had already achieved.

The hardest spiritual work in the world is to love the neighbor as the self – to encounter another human being not as someone you can use, change, fix, help, save, enroll, convince or control, but simply as someone who can spring you from the prison of yourself, if you will allow it. ~ Barbara Brown Taylor

7. CONCENTRATION

One cannot lose concentration to do spiritual Work. The study and practices do not accept dispersions. Carrying out these actions without deepening and concentrating generates a false idea of ??knowing. Real knowledge is in understanding what surrounds us and understanding the reality we live in.
